Sony made this in 1983 and nobody cared. Now it’s $1,000

So it was $300 MSRP in 1983 which is around $900 today. So really no change in value.

This ADHD hack changed my life...

We were still stuck on the turntables that had covers. I still have mine from that era. I still have a couple of Shure needle cartridges if I need them.

And still just as deadly!

i heard someone vinyl enthusiast talk about this before.. apparently the value is just for it being a gimmick, but it actually doesn’t hold up and runs on some problems (i wasn’t listening that closely), somewhat it wasn’t good for the vinyl disk or such

But it just looks cool and doesn't sound good.

It wasn't too affordable back then either, otherwise I'm sure it would have been everywhere
