Unfortunately this is the path that both Xbox and Sony have been marching towards for a while. They want complete control over their software and no longer want to deal with the second hand market as well as controlling if you want to play these games on future devices. With the snap of a finger they can take your entire library away that you paid for. This is why I try as hard as I can to just buy physical releases when they are available for a title. Nintendo is the last ship standing with physical releases. The more we support physical the more incentive for the companies to stick with it.

Consider this theory: Many kids have become passive consumers of media & no longer recognize when they need to take action. Example: Give a direction, kids stare, no clue what's going on. It takes 5 min just to take out a workbook & turn to the right page. Should be 30 secs. Might have a kid or two being slow, but everyone else should be done in a few seconds. It's not that they're being disruptive or argumentative, it's a zombie stare as their brain tries to comprehend that they were just given something to do.
