I told Mikhaela Fuller (Mikhaila Peterson) about one of my residents who reversed her dementia score from 15 to 26 in less than a year. The MoCA test scores cognitive function from 0 to 30. • <21 is full dementia • 21 to 26 is mild cognitive decline • 27 to 30 is what a healthy person scores One of my residents came in scoring 15. She had full-blown dementia and was placed in my care after her doctors wasn't sure about how to help her with her recovery. Seven months later, she scored a 26, almost in the normal range. The protocols we implemented were: • Keto diet • Regular walks outside in the sun • Regular strength training with our coach • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions weekly • And a few others She moved out of my assisted living home and back into her own apartment in Seattle. She is now a keto fanatic and even thinking about moving down to Arizona to help me expand the program! This proves dementia isn't some death sentence that we have to accept. With grit, consistency and belief, she is one of our few residents who've improved her brain function and reclaimed her independence. PS. We have 4 slots left in our community this month. #JonBenetRamsey case update ⬇️ Netflix has released “Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey,” a three-part docuseries exploring the haunting 28-year-old mystery. This week I spoke one on one with her father John Ramsey while guest hosting Banfield - we discussed the frustrating journey to justice and why the Colorado Police Department has not invited independent investigative genetic genealogy labs to help solve the case … yet. I asked John Ramsey about his recent conversations with a new investigator about why they haven’t taken up ’s offer to help. He said “Well, we did. And basically what he said, Okay, look, there's some things happening that I can't tell you about, and don't think DNA technology is there yet. I totally disagree with that. I met the founders of Othram Labs, which is one of the cutting edge labs out there that'd be happy to help. I sent a letter to the chief based on my meeting with what I learned with Othram they said A) they don't destroy any DNA when they do testing on it anymore, which was one of the concerns. B) they have the ability to separate DNA, mixed DNA samples, which is one of the issues with the sample they got in 1997 they had an unidentified male DNA sample in early 1997 it was mixed, apparently, with the blood DNA that can, now technology wise, be separated. That's huge. And the third thing, they have the ability to do familial genealogy research, which has been wildly successful in solving Old, old cold cases. That's what we're asking the police to do. Go to one of these cutting edge labs, let them do new testing, and they need a new DNA sample. We have a DNA sample which was obtained in January 1997 of an unidentified male DNA. It's not in the format needed to do this familial genealogy research to be a new command, and that's why we need to do more testing. It is profoundly gratifying to hear Diya Binu Pulikkakandam, the country’s youngest Municipal Chairperson, speak of "aligning" with my work. After 16 years as a lawmaker, nothing is more validating than finding that the legislative efforts I have championed in Parliament resonate so strongly with a bright 21-year-old first-time representative. I have just spoken to her (and to her 11th-standard sister Shreya) to convey my warmest congratulations & appreciation, and to wish them every success, in Diya’s administrative and Shreya’s academic endeavours. I am even more heartened by Diya’s articulate vision for the youth of this country, particularly in Kerala. Her emphasis on upgrading infrastructure and creating opportunities to stem the "brain drain" constitutes a perspective with which I find myself in complete "alignment." To be at the helm of Pala Municipality, while simultaneously planning to pursue higher studies, is a truly formidable achievement. Her words vindicate my faith in Young India and I look forward to the pleasure of meeting her in person.

I look and feel much better now, at 30, than I did at 25 or even 21. I pretty much eat whatever I want (in moderation), I spend lots of time in the sun, and even enjoy the occasional cocktail (or two). One thing I’ve noticed while traveling in Europe and also by observing my European mother, is that Europeans and especially those from Mediterranean countries don’t practice intense dieting or extreme exercise, they eat pasta and bread often and even smoke cigarettes and drink wine all while managing to stay relatively thin and ageing gracefully. I think a lot of it has to do with moderation, also keeping food homemade with just a few simple fresh ingredients, walking a lot, and also having less stress. I try to apply this to my life and hope it carries me into old age so I can continue aging gracefully just like my mother, and the many vibrant women I observed on my travels.

Over the years, many of you have joined me in celebrating this truly special girl turned young woman, Maddie. I am heartbroken to share with you that Maddie has passed away at the age of 21. I’m sharing a glimpse into my friendship with Maddie because I want people to know how truly special she was. I met Maddie when Kevin and I were filming Kevin Can Wait. Make-A-Wish America reached out and told us that a young girl’s wish was to meet us. I was so touched. This beautiful little girl was a fan of King of Queens? And we of course said yes. Maddie and her family came to visit us on set, and what started as a meet-and-greet turned into a real, almost decade-long, lasting friendship. Maddie would text me almost every day. She sent me funny videos, shared stories about her life, and came out to LA with her family, where I attempted to get her to expand her palate (though she always circled back to her favorite, a Caesar salad). We shared many beautiful moments that have kept me positive in moments of difficulty and darkness, and she was about to come to LA again, where I planned on celebrating her for her birthday and her recent accomplishments. Maddie had Spinal Muscular Atrophy type two (SMA), but she never let it define her. She was excited to begin advocacy work and had recently told me she was officially going to start speaking publicly about her experiences, not even for herself, but to help others. She had big dreams, and I was so proud watching her grow into the leader I always knew she was. Maddie loved her family and friends fiercely. For her young age, she would prefer to be with friends and family, playing games and our favorite, Phase 10. She loved all things girly: nails, hair, makeup, the Timberwolves. And she hated snow (though she lived in Minnesota), and more importantly, she loved helping people. She wrote me love notes daily, and I only hope I had let her know how much joy she brought me. It is me who hopes that she knew how much I loved her. I received this text from her friend Emma, whom I knew from the many funny videos Maddie sent me of the two of them. I’ve included it below. After flying to Minnesota to say goodbye (although she had already passed while I was in the air), I wanted her to know what she meant to me. That she was thinking of me in this way and wanted me to have the things she mentioned, that she cared so much, is also truly touching and heartbreaking. Maddie had so much life ahead of her. Her disease didn’t stop her spirit or dim her light. She was hopeful, brilliant, and genuinely excited for her future. I will miss her texts, her videos, and hearing from her every day. They always made me smile. I will miss her humor and the light she brought into this world every single day. Maddie had just turned 21. Her little body just couldn’t contain the big, beautiful life she was living. She was a force, taken too soon. BREAKING: Hamas has released a video of a 21-year old Mia Shem from Shoham, Israel. She was kidnapped by Hamas last week. In the video, Mia is heard saying: “Hi, I'm Mia Shem, 21 years old from Shoham. Currently, I'm in Gaza. I returned early Saturday morning from Sderot; I was at a party. I was seriously injured in my hand. I underwent surgery on my hand at the hospital [in Gaza] for 3 hours. They are taking care of me, giving me medicine, everything is fine. I only ask that they bring me home as soon as possible to my parents, to my siblings. Get me out of here as soon as possible. Please.” Hamas is claiming that they are providing her with medical care, but it’s unknown how much of it is true. She could be being manipulated into saying certain things. Candace says in her speech that since Charlie passed, it has been Mary who has helped her grieve. She explains that before Charlie died, she had trouble “connecting” with Mary but once he passed, she was able to. This explains a lot. This woman went to ULTA to purchase a new fragrance that had recently launched. The store was out of stock so they offered to have it shipped from another location. They charged her card for $170 but as soon as the transaction ended, the cashier told her that the company was completely sold out and that her card would be credited in 3-5 business days. If you took my $170 and won't give it back for 3-5 days, then there most definitely WAS a transaction!

This woman went to ULTA to purchase a new fragrance that had recently launched. The store was out of stock so they offered to have it shipped from another location. They charged her card for $170 but as soon as the transaction ended, the cashier told her that the company was completely sold out and that her card would be credited in 3-5 business days. In addition, she was not provided a receipt showing she made an online purchase and refund. By the age of 21 I was sick of myself. I felt isolated and alone in the world. I felt I had a mission to make music and I knew I had something special but I knew I needed to brake certain inner barriers in order to access the gift. I had been touched by the angel of music and was designated as one of her givers but I could not get past myself. A self imposed jail sentence of sorts where I grew a beard, put on a suit, and took off my glasses on the street and spent my days and nights learning Torah in a basement on Eastern Parkway. I stopped music all together and at one point I needed music so bad I went and recorded 3 songs in Philly just so I would have something to listen to. I would sneak up to the roof of my yeshiva with my yellow sports disc man and listen to the music I had created and look up at the sky and talk to the master of the world. I would say please help me overcome my sadness, my addictions, my demons. Please let me share this music that’s inside me with the world and I will make you proud.
