@NASASpaceflight This is a reminder to all the people that aerospace is not only toughest engineering but also toughest chemistry major.

I'm always very gratified seeing these failures at these stages. Every failure now, is a human life saved in the future. All the safety progress in aviation comes from rules and regulations written in blood. These explosions in rocketry may be painful, but the changes made save the lives of future astronauts.

@NASASpaceflight I don’t get how the top of the stage blew up before the middle. Presumably any feed lines would full of propellant, so how did the boom get up there? FTS?

@NASASpaceflight @SpaceX is just better. @amazon needs to just continue selling cheap Chinese junk and leave space to the experts.

@NASASpaceflight Spaceflight has gotten so routine we forget how fragile and temperamental these machines are, and how fast accidents can cascade into catastrophe

@NASASpaceflight Time to call in SpaceX Pad Techs. they are kinda good at fixing and building launch pads after issues.

@NASASpaceflight With the copv issues SpaceX had with Starship, this could have easily happened to them as well. Sometimes you get lucky and find the problem before this happens.

@NASASpaceflight Ouch. That's the kind of test no one wants to see. I will say, to me, it makes the agile methodology seem better in the long run. Sure SpaceX has blown up more rockets. But not in this late stage of testing. That's a huge setback for them.

@NASASpaceflight Dear Lord. That was just a booster. Can you imagine if a fully loaded starship does this at the tower. That would be a little setback lol

@NASASpaceflight It's important to keep this in perspective. Obviously they don't blow up rockets on the launch pad on purpose. But they DO "test" them on purpose, knowing this could happen. Better it happen during a TEST and not a launch.
