SOUNDBYTES. DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon vented his anger at DPWH engineers who took over the Sunog Apog Pumping Station in Manila. The project, funded in 2017 for ₱774 million, constructed in 2018, and inaugurated in 2020, has not been fully operational since then.

The pumping station received an additional ₱94million budget this year to make it operational, but DPWH engineers said ₱200million more is needed to ensure it becomes fully functional. Sec. Dizon has ordered a halt to its rehabilitation pending a full assessment of the project.

Barangay officials said they never needed the pumping station in the first place, claiming they were not consulted before construction began. ICC investigator and Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, along with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, accompanied Dizon during the inspection.

At this point. It would be more beneficial and worth the money spent if the govt hire world class engineers like from Japan! At least the billions will actually be well spent! Nakakahiya na talaga! Naturingang mga professionals na naging Engnr lang para maulanan ng salapi?? 🤬
