South Korean scientists have created a shape-shifting liquid robot. A liquid-particle composite called a Particle-armored liquid roBot can deform, engulf, and merge without losing its structural integrity, enabling it to perform functions that are difficult for rigid robots.

Researchers in South Korea have developed a particle-armored liquid robot. This thing can squeeze through incredibly tight spaces, survive drops from insane heights, and travel across land and water in silence. They’re nearly indestructible. These things are absolutely amazing!

This one actually made me pause. Scientists built a robot made of liquid. Not flexible. Liquid. It can split, merge, squeeze through tiny spaces, and then re-form. When it breaks, it heals itself. No motors. No joints. No rigid body. I’ve spent years thinking about AI as the brain of machines. This feels like the first glimpse of something else. A body that does not have a fixed shape. Today it’s millimeter-scale. Tomorrow, it’s medicine moving through the body, or machines exploring places nothing solid can reach. That thought excites me. And honestly, it unsettles me too. So here’s the question. When machines no longer have a stable form, what does “control” even mean? #AI #Robotics #SoftRobotics #Innovation #Technology #FutureOfWork

MIT built a robot that starts as a flat plastic sheet, folds itself into shape using heat, walks around on its own, then dissolves in liquid when it’s done. No assembly required. No cleanup required. It just leaves.

Researchers at EPFL in Switzerland have developed a bioinspired robot called GOAT that can change its shape to adapt to different environments. It moves by adjusting the length of its cables, allowing it to morph and travel efficiently across various terrains. This shape-shifting ability makes it useful for exploration and rescue missions, and it was introduced in 2025.

In my first week at Generalist, I trained a robot to pour liquids using GEN-1 🤖💧 I wanted to challenge the robot with a non-rigid manipulation task, so liquid felt like the perfect choice. The task involved: - unscrewing the bottle cap - pouring liquid into espresso glasses - rebalancing uneven pours Best of all, the robot was able to complete the task fully autonomously 3 times in a row (out of 3)! Pour-fect 😉 Excited for the journey ahead and grateful to be building alongside such an incredible team!

Incase you are not aware, There’s something called “liquid smoke” that is used by chefs and cooks to introduce artificial smoke flavour to cooked food. There is growing medical evidence that this “liquid smoke” seasoning can cause cancer. Pls share to educate and save a life.

Researchers have developed Humanoid-GPT, a new AI system that helps humanoid robots perform complex movements and tasks. Tested on the Unitree G1 robot, it enables real-time whole-body control and can perform new actions without special training. During demonstrations, the robot successfully carried out a variety of movements and tasks, showing strong potential for real-world applications.

SCIENTISTS JUST MADE LIGHT ACT LIKE JELLO Imagine something that’s both a solid and a liquid. Now imagine it’s made of light. Yeah. These scientists basically made light turn into a weird glowing blob that holds its shape and flows. It’s called a “quantum supersolid” and no, you can’t sit on it or drink it, but it’s still insanely cool. They did it by chilling atoms to nearly absolute zero and trapping them in a laser box. Because science. Source: quantoxy_

Why did Liquid look so bad on T? After looking through a couple of Liquid Demos. I’ve tried to pick a round, which showcases how off page they can be in mid round situations. It’s clear that there’s a lack of communication and trust. YEKINDAR tries to play off his instincts. Skullz is completely off timing wise. It felt like Liquid didn't have the right combination of players at times.

🤯incredible, its playability and usability are outstanding. Tron2 is a LEGO robot. It can be assembled into various forms depending on the scenario, including bipedal, wheeled, and humanoid torso configurations, and its end effectors are also interchangeable. Each form of the robot is driven by a VLA model. It can perform complex movements and can also be integrated into existing workflows to perform tasks. It's worth mentioning that this solves the problem of which type of humanoid robot to use. Each user can assemble the robot in a configuration that suits their specific scenario, making it truly flexible and versatile – it doesn't necessarily have to be bipedal or wheeled... I look forward to seeing more real-world use cases.

All right, who wants a robot worm? 🪱 Researchers at Case Western Reserve University developed a robot inspired by earthworms. Worms move by using wave-like muscle contractions called peristalsis. This version of the worm-inspired robot has a flexible outer mesh that can continuously change shape. Using this mesh, the robot's fixed parts can move smoothly between each other, providing power and control. This project is referred to as a "soft hyper-redundant robot," due to its highly flexible nature and ability to adapt to various environments. This design could prove useful in scenarios where traditional rigid robots struggle, such as navigating tight spaces or uneven terrain. Please let me know what your thoughts are! 👀 🔔 Hit the bell on my profile to never miss a robot story!

Jensen Huang : "I’m super excited about the robots Elon’s working on" It’s still a few years away, but when it happens, there’s a whole new industry of technicians and people who have to manufacture the robots, right? That job never existed before. So, you’re going to have a whole industry of people taking care of them. For example, all the mechanics and the people who are building things for cars that didn’t exist before cars Now, we’re going to have robots. You’re going to have robot apparel. I want my robot to look different than your robot! So, you’re going to have a whole apparel industry for robots and mechanics for robots"

The chip shortage is structural, not a production issue, and tons of GPUs are sitting idle. Greg Osuri 🇺🇸, Founder of Akash Network, tells Remy Blaire the network connects that idle compute to a grid, turning it into a liquid, tradable market.
