while its coast guard was helpin a Russian navy ship demanded to take over then when it sunk two explosions were recorded by seismographs. Later a Russian spy ship showed up with submersibles. Also the captain told the Spanish authorities they were transporting empty containers.

Also brings to to debate who was responsible. Article says holes are 50x50cm so not traditional torpedos but possibly smaller high speed ones. Sources also say spicy Ukrainians were in the region at the time. But this would and a very early non oil ship for Ua to target.

Iirc everyone at the time thought this ship was going to evac Russians in Syria. Which seems incorrect now based on everything

At this point it would just be machinery. Wouldn’t be fueled till it’s in place and ready to go

One would hope!!!

This might be a dumb question but why is a Russian boat on its way to North Korea in Spanish waters?

Why would they not just transport by rail to NK?

Why wouldn't Russia just train them directly to NK?

For Ppl believing this I have a bridge to sell u in Brooklyn... Lol. Why is the ship in the Mediterranean in the first place.😑 Russia and NK share a boarder together. Why go across the 🌍 in intl water ways while u can fully secure the path in ur own country

Caution because 28/12 is equivalent to April fools'.

Russia and North Korea have a connected border line with train and road connection. Why should they carry things like that by ship around the whole world?

It's a fake... Was in 2024 and the cargo was going to Siria

So not two nuclear reactor hatch covers destined for the russian ice-breaker "Rissiya"?

Hopefully not loaded with fuel rods...

So... you know April's Fools day right? in Spain we have Día de los Inocentes... on the 28th of December. Problem is, there doesn't seem to be any confirmation either way if it was a joke article or not, so it may or may not be 😅 ( @gmarmolp el artículo era una inocentada?)

What's wrong with the Russian provided information on the Ursa Major that it was carrying reactors or reactor hatches for ice breakers being built in the Vladivostok area.

Sound strange that to go from Russia to North Korea needs to cross spanish coasts

Russians were using a cargo ship Ursa Major to carry reactor hatch covers regardless of their destination. Not rail. Probably mainly because of their size. And the shortest route to Vladivostok or to north korea is through Mediterrean Sea.

This isn't true even a little bit.

@grok where would port of origin be if it had nuclear reactors? Morocco? Transferring thru the Caribbean? Would it be sailing thru the Arctic to get to North Korea?

Profilbild von LucyBennet

🤷‍♀️ it’s loss of equipment. I doubt they would send it with nuclear fuel.

This is pure bogus. In late 2024, the Russian cargo ship Ursa Major, part of Russia's shadow fleet, sank in the Mediterranean after an explosion, carrying nuclear icebreaker reactor hatches and cranes, not an active reactor.

Completely fits with N. Korea showing off a massive Sub hull recently. They would have been getting a nuke power plant system from Russia for all their help with the War. They would have been built near Murmansk. Ukr doesn't have the capability to sink this, but the US does.

If indeed it was carrying nuclear reactors for NK then there was way more to the story of this ship sinking. Read CIA, covert ops, SOF teams etc.

Yeah it makes sense to sail them to North Korea instead of just driving them. They are connected by a small region of land.

Complete bullshit, of course. There are fully functional cross-border road and rail links between RU and the DPRK. There is no reason to transport such items by sea when it comes to these two bordering states. Especially since Russia relies a lot on secure rail infrastructure.

The Russian shadow fleet should be sunk in their ports of departure.
