In accordance with Article 95(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. the President convened the first sitting of the 12th Parliament of Uganda, during which Members of Parliament elected Hon. Jacob Marksons Oboth (MP) (West Budama Central County) as Speaker and Hon. Thomas Tayebwa (Ruhinda North County) as Deputy Speaker, in line with Article 82 of the Constitution.
