Splitsville is a quality original comedy that I think I’ll remember beyond 2025. I’ve posted about this before but this film has an absolutely hilarious fight sequence, which you wouldn’t expect. It’s also a relatable adult story that has actual adult laughs. I recommend this.

The Place Beyond The Pines is such a beautiful film- nearly every frame in this movie is picturesque. Culturally, I think this film flies under the radar a little, which might be because this is a long movie that meanders a little in the last third. But this film absolutely has its moments- including the very real on-screen chemistry between Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes.

I finally saw #MichaelMovie again in theaters & I did so as this film is approaching $800 million worldwide. I know I’ve posted about this movie constantly since its release in April, but this has been a huge box office success for Cinema. And I think the film is a hit too.

Traffic is one of those films I recommend to anyone I know who has yet to give it a shot. Steven Soderbergh has never made a film better than this- including Ocean’s Eleven. It’s an engaging, visually stylish story that dives into the wide net cast by addiction. Strong recommend.

Michael Mann’s Blackhat is probably his most misunderstood film. I really enjoy this- I think the quality of production & filmmaking is high. I also think Chris Hemsworth gives a strong leading-man performance here. The story has its flaws, but the film overall is good.

Toy Story 5 is set for a June 19th release, which is just around the corner, and seeing Tom Hanks & Tim Allen out promoting the film honestly has me excited, even as an adult. Every single Toy Story that’s ever been made has had excellent writing. I expect this to be no exception

Breaking Bad is filled with moments I’ll remember forever & this is one of them. I can’t listen to A Horse With No Name without thinking of this scene. It’s hilarious that Walt is willing to risk his entire empire over a citation that he absolutely deserves. I miss this show.

Working Girl is a defining ‘80s rom-com that I’ve watched since I was a kid and that I’ll watch until I die. Mike Nichols was such a dependable filmmaker who knew how to tell adult stories. His work is timeless. And every last actor in this film is so exceptional. A film I love.

The Fall Guy is hilarious & I’m rewatching this film as we speak on a beautiful Sunday morning. Ryan Gosling is great in this movie & I think the story- which shines a light on stunt work- is oddly refreshing. This movie isn’t perfect but it has a lot of heart and soul.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is David Fincher’s most misunderstood film. I think people overlook this movie because it’s a long, slow burn- but this is an extremely thought-provoking story. Combine that with Fincher’s surgical filmmaking, it makes for a strong film.

Matthew McConaughey’s performance in the 2013 film Mud has aged exceptionally well. This film is outstanding & if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend. The story of two boys who encounter a fugitive on an island, this is McConaughey at his best. Also shoutout Sam Shepard.
