We could sorely use Hitchen's voice now, if any-one could clearly articulate how it is possible to be both sympathetic to Palestinian aspirations as well as Israeli concerns it would be Hitchens.

1/ It is a fard on which there is ijma' that Dar al-Harb must be fought until the land comes under Muslim rule. And it is a belief that Allah's most disfavored people must be fought till there is only one victor. Oth, Zionism began as a wish for a semi-autonomous prorectorate.

There is truth to this. However the Palestinians rejected the offer of independent statehood at least 3 times. Once by the UN, and twice by secular Israeli governments.

Ummm. He’s wrong. Israel has a tiny sliver of land. Islam has 57 states. Israel has compromised again and again. Islam is at war with the world wherever it exists. Jews enhance every community they have ever lived in.
