Thanks Spotify and Spotify India for giving me these year-end stats as an artist. Kaafi thrilling to know that my songs were streamed over 60 million times in 2024. But on a quick and easy research, I found these numbers DO NOT include some of my most-popular albums including MASAAN and GANGS OF WASSEYPUR. I can’t imagine my song-writing journey without O Womaniya or Tu Kisi Rail Si. How did it happen and how it hampers my moral rights as well as professional standing? 1. Spotify (basis the metadata it gets from the labels) doesn’t always list lyrics writers as Primary Artists in the song credit. Hence while collating my numbers for 2024, it skips such albums - Masaan, GoW, Ankhon Dekhi, Zubaan etc in my case. (Video of my discography listed in spotify attached.) 2. It impacts my dignity, moral rights, as well as royalty collections because if someone likes say Moh Moh Ke Dhaage and wants to discover my other work say Jiya Ho Bihar Ke - they can’t because these albums are not linked under my name. 3. It’s exhausting to ask for proper credits time and again. The lyrics writing community (both from channels of SWA as well as individually) has been seeking action from platforms, music labels, and producers for a long while to make it mandatory to list lyrics writers as primary artists of the songs along with composers. Two screenshots attached to show how GoW doesn’t credit me upfront while Jigra does - and that makes a world of difference to how the numbers are counted. Wo subaha kabhi toh aayegi!

I have taken my time to listen to Davido’s verse on the FIFA World Cup song, No Place Like Home. All I can say is that Davido isn’t a creative artist. His verse on the song is weak and there’s nothing new about it. We’ve heard all those lyrics before. We’ve heard everything they’re singing about before. There’s nothing fresh or unique. The song has no replay value. It’s one of those songs people will listen to once and move on from because there’s nothing that makes you want to go back and play it again. If I should rate the song, I’ll give it 2/10, and that’s only because of the beat. As for the lyrics, 0/10. No offense.

I spoke about clavicular attempting to sign me on stream tonight Since then within about 1.5 hrs 2 of my posts on IG were taken down with a nearly INSTANT appeal rejection. I’m not saying he did this and I have no proof of anything. However the coincidence has made me personally suspicious. As he has talked in his past about having connections and good lawyers. Once again I have no proof for him causing the posts to be taken down. I do think it should be investigated further by meta with insider compromised moderators
