I built a stock market API in 42 days. All during buildspace s5. What is the API? Today, it lets you pull financials for 16,000 tickers going back 30+ years. Why did I build the API? Because the big providers have: • poor API design • poor documentation • expensive sales contracts • strict data retention policies How did I build it? I started building the API from scratch at the start of s5 in early June. I got deep into the SEC Edgar API and cracked how to scrape at scale. Sonnet 3.5 from Anthropic was a godsend for this. I hacked early mornings, late nights, and weekends, with a full-time job. Day by day. Code by code. I set weekly goals and hit each one. End result: I’m excited to see where this API goes. It may go nowhere, but I’ll always know that I can set goals and crush them.

Turns out teaching the AI Coding Agents what's your preferred way of implementation(a.k.a Claude Skills) gives much better results. 😇 Took all the guidelines from my "Spring Application Architecture Design Patterns" samples and created file and asked Claude to generate a new application. Claude followed most of those patterns as expected 😍 Earlier I used to Vibe Code and then spend some time unvibing(cleaning up) the generated code. With these Skills given to Claude, now I no need to spend too much time for cleaning up the code. 🚀

I'm reiterating - I think a better interface for LLMs on desktop is an interactive notebook, not chat. I'm trying to build a better intuition for PCA and strongly feel an interactive notebook where I'm chatting with LLM + also modifying code/plotting figures is a much better interaction. Bonus points if you make notebook cells branchable (so if you get an error, you can ask LLM to fix it without adding that rotten context to the main branch of learning). Please steal this idea. Make an AI-powered, interactive, branching notebook.

🚨API IS CHEAPER THAN SUBSCRIPTION. I ONE-SHOT A PLAYABLE MARIO CLONE WITH ONLY $2 OF API CREDITS. Yesterday I posted that Claude MAX 20x gave me less than 4 hours of actual Fable 5.1 usage before I was already at ~77% of my weekly limit. I was genuinely asking how “45% cheaper” mattered if I could barely use the model. MixRoute AI saw the post and reached out to let me stress-test their API for a full day. So I thought why dont we make a comparision between both of them Claude Code session: $10.25 cache hit 97% MixRoute AI API usage: $2.00 Claude Code: ~25 min → $10.25 MixRoute: ~32 min → $2.00 ~6 minutes slower. ~80% cheaper. Both built a playable Mario clone. Full run sped up ~60x ↓

Do Trainers Take Too Much Credit?? The older I get, the more I understand that training is a piece of the puzzle for players or teams. Early on in my career I thought it was everything, and that a players success was my success. A players success is their success, and all the different people in their lives are there to hopefully help guide them. When I realized that, I became a better trainer because I realized I was serving them and not my own ego.
