Andover Central defeated Bishop Miege in the 4A State Championship today in Emporia. This is the first time since 2013 that a public school has won a 4A state title. Hesston (3A🏀) was very impressive tonight in their 65-43 girls state quarterfinal victory over Cheney. Kendal Brueggen was incredible tonight with 31 points and is one of the best in the state. Hesston has zero seniors, going to be a very scary team. They advance to the semifinals to take on two-time defending champion Goodland. History Made: Wellington earns their first title in school history breaking Bishop Miege’s 5 year streak winning 53-48. Wellington’s star senior duo of Valerie Norwood and Britt Zeka led the way with 20 and 15 points respectively.
