Planning with the views: Can VLMs predict how each camera move changes the view, and plan many such moves ahead? We introduce ViewSuite with 6 DoF camera control and ~165K task instances, testing: Path-to-View View-to-Path Interactive View Planning A sharp Planning Gap emerges: + can roughly "track" how camera action changes views - cannot "compose" a plan towards a target view at all We then try to teach VLMs with Reinforcement Learning. - RL cannot teach VLMs such planning ability, only 2.5% success rate with Qwen2.5-VL-7B. + With View Graph Distillation (our RL-Graph-SFT framework), 2.5% → 47.8% Below, we answer these questions: Q1. What are the failure modes? Q2. How can we make RL work? Q3. What has the model learned? Can we open up the model to see before/after? Can such spatial priors transfer to other view related tasks? ✨ It's not even 2026 yet, but you can start using AI world models today! This is World Labs running inside my app 🏡 Interior AI letting you redesign your home with AI and then walk through it! It's really cool and of course not perfect especially since for now it's based on just one image, but multi-image will allow for more precise understanding of the room As always this is just the first version, and it'll get better from here World Labs is founded by Fei-Fei Li, a Computer Science professor from Stanford University, and other people like Justin Johnson, Christoph Lassner, and Ben Mildenhall "each a world-renowned technologist in computer vision and graphics" The tech essentially comes down to img2splat, search what a guassian splat is if you don't know It's in beta and wait list, but I'm trying to get this live for everyone as soon as possible as it seems like such an essential feature for interior design P.S. I also tried to worldify people photos (for Photo AI) but World Labs for safety right now seems to block it off and make it a black square, maybe in the future

Today we announce Bill 2: the Back to School Act. If passed, this bill will put student learning first, ensure our children return to the classroom on Wednesday, October 29th and legislate a fair reasonable collective bargaining agreement for Alberta teachers. On top of $8.6 billion to build and modernize 130 new schools, this deal will ensure: ✅ $70k to $119k salaries ✅ 3,000 extra teachers ✅ 1,500 more education assistants We know there is more work that needs to be done. Jensen Huang on "distillation" On his new interview with axios, he was asked this question "Should open source model companies be allowed to distill closed models" "Distillation—learning from AI, learning from other people, and learning from other sources of knowledge, is fundamental to intelligence. We are constantly learning from other people. I am learning from you through the questions you are asking, and you are learning from me. All day long, we are learning from one another. AI also has to learn from something. The original AI models, whether they were open or closed, were trained on previously created knowledge from the internet. Now, AI is generating more content than humans. In a few more years, the internet could be 99% AI-generated content, and that content will have been created by some form of AI. As a result, AI systems will constantly be distilling knowledge and intelligence from other AI systems. The fact that AI can learn is a good thing. To prepare ourselves and our communities for rapidly increasing machine intelligence (eg #aialignment), Reforesters bought a building in Brooklyn that will be dedicated to introspective events/journeys, bought 400 acres in upstate NY and planted 35,000 trees/shrubs. Much work ahead on those fronts. We have been thinking on this and preparing for years. Today, I'm excited to announce that we raised $25,000 (so far) for a preliminary AI Alignment contest to encourage open source uses of AI and robotics to scale polycultures and agroforesty. This will be the first of many contests in various disciplines. Details tba October 1, 2023. See video below to understand the work we wish to to scale w/ this first contest. Free PDF here: With the recent, very misguided AI fears pushing for regulations that we believe will increase the likelihood and severity of negative outcomes, we are alight with a sense of urgency to support and encourage the proliferation of an adaptive web of implicitly aligned AIs (which some may refer to as #AGI #ASI #SAIM) to outcompete the perverse, pathogenic AIs that doomers are conjuring into existence. Our future is bright. But our descendants need us to act decisively now and with positivity to fight the age-old trend for humans to build governance systems around good/evil discourse that belies the underlying complexity of our world.
