The things that people like Sankara aspired to and now Traore in delivering to their people and charting a new path of economic development, were done by President Mangope. These are some of his achievements: There were industries ranged from vehicle manufacturers producing components for their South African-based production lines, to ceramic plants and sophisticated laboratories. Apart from providing valuable employment for the country’s workforce, these viable industrial sectors replaced imports and promoted export income. Government also created a tax base from which it could draw its revenue in order to finance its services to the nation. In addition to this, the Bophuthatswana government offered handsome incentives to attract investors to the country. The stable political atmosphere, an almost inexhaustible supply of labour and raw materials and an excellent infrastructure and markets on Bophutshatswana’s doorstep, lured investors from afar. Eight designated industrial development areas existed in the country where the majority of industries were involved in clothing and textile manufacturing, as well as furniture production. The rest were all connected to engineering, assembling, moulding and printing. Government’s new incentive package for small manufacturers, which came into effect during 1985, acted as a catalyst for further industrial growth throughout Bophuthatswana. The Department of Manpower played a key role in helping the country’s population realise their full potential as skilled workers. A wide range of courses was offered including trade, technical, administration, commercial, craft and catering tuition. A cash grant system existed for companies which undertook private training schemes which were approved by the registrar of training. The commerce branch of the Department of Economic Affairs promoted trade, established new concerns, and created an appropriate environment for participation. Some of this Department’s highlights included: - The opening of shopping centres at Kudube in the Moretele district, at Lehurutse, Thaba’ Nchu, Mogwase, Mothibistad, Phokeng, Thlabane and Mabopane; - The construction of the Mmabatho shopping centre; - The opening of Bophuthatswana House in London; - The Molopo alluvial diamond diggings; and - The opening of smaller shopping centres at Pudimoe and Pampierstad villages. Industrialists believe that a vital factor contributing to a country’s economic success is the government’s official attitude encouraging free enterprise, and the spirit of free enterprise was also an important concept in Bophuthatswana. Hence a council for Consumer Affairs was established to ensure that it continued and fostered economic development. This council circumvented unfair trade practices and educated both buyers and suppliers in sound consumer behaviour. The Yabeng Investment Company, which was launched in June 1983 by Kgosi Lucas Manyane Mangope, was a vehicle whereby the public could purchase shares in Bophuthatswana’s best known commercial companies. With this investment opportunity the needs of small, and often first time, investors were met by government. With the formation of Sun International (Bophuthatswana) 1979 (Sun Bop) several important developments had been completed within 10 years. My involvement in the case of MBAVU DESTROYER, a street fighter preparing for a boxing match in April, came from a genuine place. I saw a young man with potential who needed professional structure, and I decided to help him access proper boxing techniques and training from a qualified, certified coach. Unfortunately, what began as an act of goodwill has been twisted into a narrative meant to taint my name. Claims have been circulated suggesting I was attempting to extort money promised to MBAVU DESTROYER by the President through the coach who was to train him. That is completely false. MBAVU DESTROYER himself has acknowledged that the rumor was started by his purported manager. At no point was there any prior agreement to pay the coach the amounts being quoted. The understanding was simple: the coach, out of goodwill, would offer professional training, and if MBAVU DESTROYER won the match and wished to appreciate or reward him, that was entirely between them. My role was purely supervisory to ensure he had access to proper training, equipment, discipline, and preparation ahead of the fight. It is disheartening when genuine efforts to uplift someone are repaid with misinformation and suspicion. Claims have been circulated suggesting I was attempting to extort money promised to MBAVU DESTROYER by the President through the coach who was to train him. That is completely false. MBAVU DESTROYER himself has acknowledged that the rumor was started by his purported manager. At no point was there any prior agreement to pay the coach the amounts being quoted. The understanding was simple: the coach, out of goodwill, would offer professional training, and if MBAVU DESTROYER won the match and wished to appreciate or reward him, that was entirely between them. My role was purely supervisory to ensure he had access to proper training, equipment, discipline, and preparation ahead of the fight. It is disheartening when genuine efforts to uplift someone are repaid with misinformation and suspicion. Caged and used for breeding. Today they met their new mums and are off to Ireland 🇮🇪 I’ll never forget the smell of little Faith and Phoenix when we first rescued them from the cages they were in and used for breeding. It was wretched and poor little Faith’s eye was being eaten alive by maggots. 5 months later and after building them back up it was an incredibly special moment for them as their 2 new mums came all the way over from Ireland to collect them… ✈️ They will fly home together and be in Ireland for Christmas. The dogs are small enough that they can go in the cabin which is so nice for them. 💕 The two ladies live within 2 mins walk of each other and are great friends already. So Faith and Phoenix will be seeing each other on a regular basis. 🐶 I know the two dogs very well and I could sense they were different today. Maybe it was all the treats and toys the lovely ladies brought but I think it’s a bit more deep than that. They sensed something big and good was happening in their lives. We get so many knocks with dogs and setbacks. So to see these 2 little angels and so many wonderful people coming together and Melanie and Patsy coming across the world to give them a home is what it’s all about. A Christmas miracle for the 2 little ones 🥰🙏

Every pit bull I've ever known personally has been a good dog. Because of that, I long believed the mantra "It's the owner, not the dog." About five years ago I saw this clip, and it made me question my assumptions. This dog got away from its owner and attacked this horse - apparently the owner had no idea that this would happen. But the part I found remarkable was how it just keeps going! It gets kicked over and over but keeps coming back for more (the dog was so badly injured that it was euthanized). It was after I saw this that I began digging in to the actual facts on pit bulls. That behavior isn't normal for a dog, but it is normal for a PB. This is because of selective breeding; evil people created a genetic time bomb by selecting traits that no one ought to want in a dog.
