Star Trek: The Next Generation started 37 years ago today. It's crazy to think that one of the most influential sci-fi series of my life will soon be 40 years old. 🖖

Nostalgia alert! TNG was more than just a show, it was a vision of a better future. Still inspiring us to reach for the stars 🚀

Still in love with the series. Great casting with great writing.

I still watch the reruns as it’s something I hope humanity eventually moves towards becoming. They still dealt with their share of problems but things like most diseases, hunger and poverty are things of the past. As well humanity moved past a focus on money and more on working for the benefit of each other 😎

For me, this is the best Trek ever! I watched TOS+TAS reruns as a kid, but NextGen really got me hooked as Teekker in my very early twenties.

It was the place where modern SF TV began. So many other great shows coasted in in its wake.

I remember my ex muttering, "I'll give it a go, but it will be shite. Can't beat the original one". End of episode 1: "Fuck, that's unbelievable!".

How do you think I feel? I‘m an original series Trek fan.

That's all right. Plenty of letters left in the alphabet.

My most "beloved" Star Trek, even though now I admit that DS9 was the better show

Imagine if our current AI's were plopped into the Enterprise D's computer. Some third-grader would have talked it into diving into the sun, using the holo-emitters to take over Ten Forward with sentient Teddy Bears, and made the Replicators make only ice cream... all in Ep 1.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture was released 45 years ago today. Rarely has a sci-fi movie been so horny.
