“Starman” by David Bowie was released as a single 54 years ago today.

Liberation, identity and cultural change.. In july 6, 1972, #DavidBowie performs 'Starman' on #TopOfThePops In a few minutes #Ziggy, attitude, that arm over Ronson -he didn't just play a song, he changed everything 🚀

Love that song.

I love seeing David and Mick together that sort of best friend dynamic brings tears to my eyes

Timeless

@frazerrice

Videos of him make me happy and sad in equal measure

Let all the children boogie 🎶💃⚡🕺🎶

Remember watching this on TOTP - was amazed!!

@BowieArt Good tune 🎶

Starry man

The moment he points to the camera is moment everything changed … he was pointing to all of us 😉 … 🔊🎶🎸

❤️❤️❤️🙏

I like how the inside of the guitar is blue too. They cared so much, they didn't bother to mask the sound hole.

One of my favorite David Bowie songs

This genius Has grown on me Over the past five years.

@RewindGary . love Bowie

Didn't know what time it was, the lights were low I leaned back on my radio Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll "Lotta soul, " he said Then the loud sound did seem to fade Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
