Starting May 7, you will need a Real ID to fly. Real IDs make identification harder to forge, thwarting criminals and terrorists. If you plan to fly, make sure you get a Real ID so you won’t be denied from your flight or face travel delays!

A passport is an acceptable form of identification and may be used in lieu of a REAL ID Drivers License or ID to board domestic flights and visit federal facilities.

Why is a state driver’s license not good enough for federal identification?

Why not delay it like past administrations did so you can hear from the people on it? Americans don’t want a big government surveillance state

@DHSgov I don't like the fact that being an American citizen, we are being forced to get real id when illegals have been flying for years without any identification. That's what a passport is for with a driver's license to back it up! This needs to stop. Freedoms taken!

How did this go from we need IDs on our elections to we need your real ID bullshit just to enter a federal building. Isn’t this the exact same way the passport was sold? What does Real ID have to do with flying. This sounds like a domestic passport to me. I smell bullshit. You guys come up with all these crazy programs for people who obey the law but nothing ever really changes does it? Except the government does always end up with more power over law abiding citizens. There is so much wrong with this…
