Steam Controller 2 on GameCube with JoypadOS USB2GC

That’s sick

Yoooooo so sick! Would love to see people start making modded controller mappings so I could use the gyro to tilt in Super Monkey Ball!

I’d love that. It’s 100% open source and hackable. I managed to passthrough the touchpad and gyro on PS4, so we certainly can hack in gyro roll to tilt on GameCube. Would be fun to use a Wiimote on GameCube for this just to do some funky backwards compatibility fun.

that is so cool wtf

I wanna see rock band 3 on that crt

Now you need a automatic switching system that works with the gcomp to switch between consoles with a button combo. The A/V switches and the controller switches together

I have been thinking about WiFi dongles with a display on the controller to use for selecting which console to connect to. Could connect to AV switch somehow for auto switching. 🤔

@tigheklory A phone app would be easier to be honest

@RobertDaleSmith Easier isn't funner though.

@Ekhceed Both options would be ideal.

I wonder if I could make this work on a PS2...

Easy.

What rack and shelf are you using for the PVM? I need to build one.

Rack is a EchoGear from Amazon with a bunch of random rack shelves. But the Navpoint shelf that mounts on both sides is essential for heavy PVMs.

Question; is it also usable on Switch 2 and PS3?, and if yes, does de gyro work as intended? Been looking at ways to remove the 30+ controllers in favor of just using the Steam Controller seems like a sensible choice, but still on the fence regarding joypadOS

PS3 yes and gyro possible. For switch it currently can appear as a Switch 1 controller and I may need to do some extra work to get gyro ironed out there. For sure would like to have a dedicated Switch 2 mode eventually as JoypadOS evolves.

I see, thanks! much appreciated answer. Btw, i was looking at using the Pi Pico 2W for my joypadOS adapter, is there anything i should be aware on that regard? or it's just a plug'n'play (install the firmware ofcs) and that's it?

There is a plug and play Pi Pico 2W firmware build for JoypadOS BT2USB firmware app that works well. Can also config more advanced details through the web config tool at

Does it work on wired only controllers too? 👀

Joypad os my goat
