Xbox 360 controller authentication has been cracked! This is on a totally unmodified Xbox 360 console. All you need to try for yourself is a cheap Pi Pico W and the joypad-os firmware. The pi pico is able to totally simulate a real 360 controller.

Microsoft SideWinder DualStrike fully supported by Joypad Tester. Direct HID connection reveals a third twist axis. And a sort of digital button press occurs when the X/Y axes reach their limit.

Until I wrote my own driver, I had no idea Switch Pro controller had an LED around the Home button. Switch Pro controller fully implemented in Joypad tester. Direct webHID mode gives you access to test buttons, analog sticks, rumble motors, IMU sensors, and player/home LEDs.

DualShock1, DualShock2, DualShock3, DualShock4 and DualSense controllers should all work on any PlayStation! I’m stoked that JoypadOS now covers all generations PlayStation controller input. Time to do the same in reverse… PS3 ✅

PS3 controller authentication was a lot easier to circumvent. Wireless DualShock4 and DualSense and wired Xbox 360 controllers working on an unmodded PlayStation 3 console. Full button, triggers, player led, rumble, and gyro passthrough.
