For the last 2 weeks I went on a road trip to MA, NH, VT & a couple cities in Canada. What I witnessed was the exact opposite of what’s happening in LA/California -Nearly 0 homeless visible -Clean/safe streets -Beautiful, inviting public spaces (not defaced) -NO empty stores -No burned down cities Splash pads that children could safely use because they weren’t being used as a toilet/shower by homeless. Public transit that you can ride without fear of being killed or mugged or injured. Retail centers bustling with people. No trash outside of actual trash cans. Street festivals that run into the night in urban areas. See my video of a PUBLIC space in Montreal - GORGEOUS spaces, luxury seating (for anyone to use!), not a scratch. Pristine. Beautiful. No bums loitering, shooting up, taking a dump in public, assaulting people or blocking entrances to stores. My kids were in SHOCK! “How’s this possible?!” they would repeatedly ask. I had to tell them. This is what I remember about California from my childhood. We used to have it. And they’re GASLIGHTING us into thinking it’s impossible. That the world has changed. And there's a relatively short route into it through the Ukrainian-held forest to the northwest, although the last mile is through an open field around the base of (and dominated by) the nearby slag heap. It would be an extremely dangerous journey. Now we come to what the video actually depicts - the withdrawal of troops. The first APC is hit while withdrawing and the escaping dismounts are effectively engaged after going to ground in the forest. The second APC then arrives in Zabalka, loads up, and is heavily hit and knocked out as it withdraws. A couple soldiers are seen heading deeper into the city on foot as it departs, but not a full squad - there may not have been room for them on the transport, or they may have (correctly) thought their chances were better on foot. Then the subsequent video emerged of Russian infantry clearing holdouts in the area, which could have very well been those men. So what happened here? Well, I pointed out earlier that it's standard practice to back-clear an urban area after taking it, to clear bypassed enemy strongholds and booby-traps and render the area safe to support further operations. I suspect there was actually a pocket of bypassed Ukrainian troops holed up in the western Zabalka District, a couple kilometers behind Russian lines, whom the AFU command tried to evacuate via APC earlier this week while they still had the chance to do so. And the Russians may very well have allowed those APCs to pull in and load up so they could - as they did - very coldly kill them while they were packed with infantry to withdraw. Why did the Ukrainian command undertake such a high-risk operation instead of simply writing these men off and telling them that it was every man for himself? Probably because these were Azov fighters and thus entitled to special treatment and consideration - one of their brigades operates in the area. In any event, far from suggesting a Ukrainian counterattack into south Toretsk, this turn of events suggests to me that the Russians are instead mopping up remaining resistance in the city. Tales of Wudan - STRAW PILLOWS Atop Wudan, the nights were always especially cold. We would sleep on concrete floors with straw pillows and blankets were forbidden. Many of the students would opt to do their chores in the middle of the night in an attempt to stay warm and then try to steal sleep during meditation in the warmer afternoons. Of course, Po was aware of this, and every so often would pluck a perpetrator from morning exercise and beat him severely. It’s a risk many children took, for it is very difficult to sleep when you are cold. But I wanted to feel like a weapon. Not to have a weapon or use a weapon - I wanted to BE and FEEL like a weapon. When I walk the streets, I feel a way most men can never feel. And to do that, I have endured 10,000 cold nights. When I graduated as a Master of Wudan I spent many years roaming from town to town. One day I fell in love. She said she would stay with me forever, sickness and health, no matter what. That I am the sword and she is the sheath, and we need each other. I believed her. She believed her. So I rented a small room. Concrete floor and straw pillow. I forbid us to touch - only body heat can be shared. She asked how long we must do this, and my answer was simple: “Until mastery is attained.” When I woke the following morning she was gone. I never saw her again. O People of the Sunnah, Do Not Stop the Da'wah! A few minutes ago, I watched a snippet from an interview on Oyinmomo TV featuring the veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor, Sunny Alli. The interview covered his acting career, lifestyle, and several other aspects of his life. Towards the end of the conversation, he was asked to address a rumour that he had started attending Ilékẹ̀ú (an Arabic school) despite being an adult. Clarifying the matter, Sunny Alli explained that he is not enrolled in a conventional Arabic school. Rather, he regularly attends a circle of Islamic knowledge (ḥalaqah) held five times a week at the Ahlus-Sunnah mosque where he observes his daily prayers. He also mentioned that he attends the mosque's monthly public lectures. The interviewer then asked a profound question: "What have you gained since praying with the Ahlus-Sunnah and attending their lectures?" His response was refreshing. He explained that praying at the Ahlus-Sunnah mosque and consistently attending its lessons has made him more punctual and steadfast in his ṣalāh. He added that it helped him overcome his habit of betting and strengthened his understanding of essential matters of Islamic creed (ʿaqīdah) that are vital for success in this life and the Hereafter. One part of his response particularly stood out to me. He stated that he does not believe in many of the supernatural claims often portrayed in movies—such as exaggerated depictions of witches, human sacrifice, money rituals, and similar practices. At a time when we occasionally see some Muslim musicians and actors publicly speaking about such beliefs as though they are realities to be celebrated, hearing these words from Sunny Alli was truly a breath of fresh air. That short clip left me reflecting on something important: The Da'wah of the Sunnah is making progress. But we must not become complacent. Our Da'wah should never be confined to social media alone. We must continue taking the message of Tawḥīd and the Sunnah to our neighbourhood mosques, our families, our communities, our workplaces, and wherever people are willing to listen. Every sincere reminder has the potential to transform a life. The Prophet ﷺ said: "For Allah to guide one person through you is better for you than red camels." Never underestimate the impact of sincere Da'wah. A single lesson, a kind conversation, or an invitation to the mosque may become the means by which Allah guides a heart. May Allah grant Sunny Alli steadfastness upon Islam, increase him in beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds, and abundantly reward the imams, teachers, and everyone involved in the mosque where he prays and learns. Wow Sora is so amazing, I wanted to really push it to the limits and see how it would handle a very complex prompt: “A 45-45-90 right triangle divides in half within itself repeatedly to create an organized fractal structure with self similarity, increasing in size from small at the top left to large at the bottom right, the whole structure is gradually growing from the top left point as the origin to create a seamless loop over 8 seconds, the individual triangles form platforms like a staircase descending downwards and have small rounded corners, as they move towards the bottom of the screen they each divide in half and one half moves downwards slightly to create another step and then the halves should divide in half again and one moves downwards to create one more step, after the second division curved cut-outs inside the triangles emerge upwards in a mechanical motion to form a continuous winding curved path towards the top of the structure, the edges of the path cutouts should be visible in the floor before they emerge so the viewer can anticipate the path being formed, after the path pieces move into place three Adélie penguins hop upwards along the path chasing a bright turquoise butterfly, the penguins should be hopping like the penguins in the following videos [ and should be progressing up the path while staying visually centered onscreen, the animation of the triangle platforms dividing and path forming and penguins hopping should be visually clear from top to bottom and arranged in such a way that you can look anywhere in the image to focus on a certain part of the story yet also be able to follow along from top to bottom to watch how the story unfolds throughout the image, the platforms should all be made of an elegant slightly reflective light wooden floor and white walls like a contemporary art museum, as each path segment moves upwards into place it is revealed that it is built on reflective chrome columns, lighting in the room is dark except for a single spotlight following the penguins and thin neon tube lighting around the edge of each triangle platform placed just below the floor level so that when the platforms divide and descend it reveals the neon light from the platform behind it which lights up the edges of the newly formed triangles and makes their form clear to the viewer's eye, some more neon lights inside the edge of the gap left by the path segments rising to form the path, the large dark triangle that makes up the upper right corner should be divided repeatedly by subtly glowing lines in a similar structure to the main layout but moving in the opposite direction as if to suggest that the 45-45-90 triangle on which the whole structure is based is being gradually disintegrated over time into a series of smaller identical triangles and emotionally relatable architecture as a frame for the penguins at the center to make them seem like the protagonist of the piece even though the true protagonist is the triangle itself, in the style of shapiro500, isometric 3d, beautiful lighting, best quality, masterpiece, hyperdetailed 4k, octane render” but I don't have Sora access so I made it by hand with Cinema 4D instead

🙏😢People are more desperate than they have ever been, my friends, and the danger is higher and more terrifying than ever. The bombing is everywhere, in all directions, and they target residents in their homes, so we know we are constantly at risk. It is the third and last day of Eid, but I am struggling to be cheerful when our circumstances are so miserable. The people who are forced to live out years of their lives in tents are constantly on my mind, constantly at risk and terrified at every moment. It's hard enough to listen to the drones and planes from within our homes, but under a fabric roof, it must feel so much worse. Parents are so worried about their children as everyone grows thinner, and it feels awful not to be able to provide our camp with clean water so that they can at least hydrate and feel clean. With dirty water, they constantly face sickness and disease, and I worry about the already thin and malnourished people who are not fit to recover from such terrible circumstances. Prices remain insanely high, at first I laugh, but then I feel like I could cry. The generator we are raising funding for costs $28000! How are we to survive these miserable circumstances with such high prices imposed onto us? It feels so cruel. The greedy merchants who take everything from us are souless, they pay no mind to who will live or die thanks to their cruel pricing. 🫂💔As an animal lover ever since I was a small child, it breaks my heart to see the condition of the animals in the streets. Every type of living thing is targeted by this seige, and the animals are suffering terribly from it. The animals that are still alive are skin and bones, and every type of canned meat is running out, leaving even those who rescue or look after their own pets unable to find adequate food to distribute. People have had to release their beloved pets to the wild to give them the best shot to survive so that they can find their own food or a safer place to be. It is more than heartbreaking, my friends. I am deeply worried about finding food for my cat shelter, and I desperately want to buy some of the last canned food available before there is nothing left at all. Please will you help me? Time feels like it is running out, my friends. Without a water generator, with diminishing food supplies, donations dropping, and the danger surrounding us, our deaths feel inevitable. I don't want to die. Please help me while we can still help others, please help my friends and I to continue to distribute food and to run our water distribution again.
