Teamwork makes the dream work! 👣 👣 Earlier this week I posted about “cruising” - an intermediate step between crawling and independent walking in which some babies pull to standing, but still rely on furniture or other environmental supports to balance their steps. These adorable twins are closely aligned in development, but one has begun taking independent steps, while his sister is right on the cusp - and remains a cruiser. So what does she do? She uses her walking brother as a support to scaffold her own walking. How fantastic is that? This amazing video was shared to TT by meganpattterson.

Tisgaon sarpanch Sanjay Jadhav was among those desperately trying to talk 18-year-old Kunal Chandwade out of jumping off Khavdya Dongar in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. "We kept telling him to think of his mother and not take the step," Jadhav said. When pleading failed, Jadhav offered to give Kunal an iPhone to keep him engaged and persuade him to step away from the edge. But the teenager appeared determined. "There is no solution now. There is only one solution," he told Jadhav, according to the sarpanch. As the three-hour standoff entered its final moments, Kunal's father Murlidhar moved towards him, hoping to pull him back. Kunal suddenly jumped as his father tried to catch him, and both fell to their deaths. Kunal, Murlidhar and Kunal's mother Sangeeta died within moments of each other at around 1pm on Friday, turning the rescue operation into a tragedy. Police said Kunal had reached the hill around 10am and remained close to the edge despite repeated appeals from his parents, villagers and rescuers to move to safety. Fire brigade teams deployed safety nets below the steep cliff, but their efforts were complicated as Kunal kept shifting his position along the edge. According to local residents, Kunal had been distressed after his parents refused to buy him an expensive mobile phone. Once his family learnt that he had gone to the hill, his parents rushed to the spot. Residents of Tisgaon, personnel from MIDC Waluj police station and fire brigade teams also joined the rescue effort. For nearly three hours, Sangeeta continued talking to her son and urging him to return to safety. Villagers also tried different ways to persuade him to step back from the edge. Jadhav said the teenager remained adamant despite the attempts to reason with him. His offer to give Kunal an iPhone was also intended to keep him talking and buy time for rescuers to bring him to safety. Police are now trying to establish exactly what happened in the final moments. "We are trying to establish the exact sequence of events," police commissioner Pravin Pawar said. DCP Ratnakar Navale said the family belonged to Dhangar Pimpalgaon village in Jalna district. Relatives took the bodies to their village after police recovered them from the difficult terrain. The bodies were sent for postmortem, while investigators are recording statements from people who witnessed the incident.

7 Reasons I Love Full Hex Squats! 1. Step-ups and split-squats on some sort of podium have already been go-tos for me for the past 15 years of knee rehab and coaching, and anyone can access these for free or dirt cheap. 2. Not everyone wants to jump into barbell squats. My parents maintain bodyweight. I advise young athletes to master one leg at a time first. Both user-friendly from this. 3. Sophomore year of high school I injured my neck from being pushed into heavy barbell squats. Full hex squat allows you to build some upper back first. 4. My best friend in high school broke his back while maxing out barbell squats. Spent the next year in a metal brace. When your legs can’t handle a full hex squat, you’re in a DEADLIFT, not a GOODMORNING. Deadlift has way easier leverage, so you’re way safer. 5. Hex squat isn’t as good for lower back building, but for me, my parents, and my teenage students, back extension is already my go-to to build lower back muscles at higher reps BEFORE worrying about max loads. (To be clear: 1-5 above are amazing PREP/HELPERS for barbell squats if you so desire!) 6. If a young person does want to see their peak strength, a regular hex deadlift is a very safe and accurate option. 7. The same hex is advantageous for forward and backward farmer’s walks to help your ankles and grip keep up with your new power! (These podiums won’t be good biz since they’re made in USA, small batches, but these are easy to mimic or copy. ETA 6 weeks to first batch for sale, for those interested.) A case of alleged domestic abuse in Jaipur has left two children without their mother. The victim, Anu Meena, allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself. Both children were witnesses to their parents' constant quarrels. Anu married Gautam Meena, an executive engineer in the Public Works Department, in 2015. Allegations suggest that soon after marriage, Gautam began harassing her, often under the influence of alcohol. He reportedly abused and physically assaulted her multiple times. Their son, 10-year-old Mahir, said that his father frequently beat his mother. He recalled an incident when his father came home and assaulted Anu. Mahir also mentioned that his mother had asked him to give her salt water whenever her blood pressure dropped. On one occasion, while he tried to help her, his father dismissed the situation. "Dad would often hit Mom and torment her. One day, he came home, played a song on the TV, then smashed the television set and beat Mom. I went to get the water, but Dad blamed Mom," Mahir said. Their daughter, eight-year-old Samayra, also recounted frequent fights between her parents, including public arguments at social gatherings and even during a family trip. On April 7, Anu allegedly died by suicide after enduring ongoing abuse. Before taking the extreme step, she made a video call to her husband and carried out the act during the call. Neighbours rushed to the scene and informed her family. Despite attempts to revive her through CPR, she could not be saved. She said she missed a call that day and now feels she could have prevented the tragedy. Days after the incident, Mahir accessed his mother's phone and retrieved several videos, including footage of an altercation. Anu had recorded a video inside the car in which Gautam can be clearly heard hurling verbal abuse at her. In the video, Gautam is seen verbally abusing both Anu and her family. Anu's brother, Neeraj Meena, said the family had repeatedly urged her to return home, but she chose to stay, concerned about her husband's well-being. He added that Gautam would often apologise after episodes of violence, which led the family to believe the situation might improve. He further alleged that even after the incident, Gautam showed no remorse and reportedly stated that going to jail for a few days would not be a problem. All of the NewJeans members accepted it. So people were like, “Then what does that mean?” It basically meant they were saying they would go back to HYBE. But within HYBE, at first they only planned to accept two members back, and they were wavering over what to do with the other three. Then more recently, this is what you’re seeing now, they decided, “We need to cut Danielle.” Why single out just this one member? This is something I’ve investigated, but I can’t give you exact details yet. There are probably multiple reasons mixed together. But there are a few prevailing interpretations. First, because the NewJeans members are young, discussions are often conducted together with their parents, almost as if the parents are acting as representatives. There’s a view that Danielle’s parents may have been relatively more hardline. Second, there’s the idea that you need to make an example out of at least one person... grab one, so to speak, so you can line up the rest and bring them under control. From that perspective, they decided they needed to single someone out to “set discipline.” At some point in the past, Danielle posted a photo that gave off the nuance that she might be working on something together with certain people. Now, when all five NewJeans members did other activities or pursued independent moves, they did so as a group. But in this case, she was the only one who posted something like that on her own, so she kind of stood out that one time. And based on that, this is just my own speculation, by the way, if they decided to latch onto that as concrete grounds, it would be incredibly easy to single out just one person. It becomes very convenient to frame it like, “Were you trying to work with other artists?” or “Were you trying to go to another producer?” That kind of narrative is easy to construct. So from my perspective, they singled out Danielle first, and, why? You know “divide and rule,” right? You break one person off, come down hard on them, and then show the remaining four, “If you step out of line, this is what happens,” basically grabbing them by the collar to keep them in check. This kind of thing has existed in the idol industry for a long time. At SM, for example, exclusive contracts used to be around 10 years, then after the JYJ incident they were changed to about 7 years. And when it starts to look like artists might not renew around the 7-year mark, companies don’t exactly send them off nicely.
