We can give ourselves a shot like we did a year ago by connecting and staying healthy and getting on a run. We’re still good enough to do that. If you do that and you have a shot, you get to the playoffs, you never know what’s going to happen. I think that’s where we are right now so we’ve got to keep fighting.”

lando on the mutual respect he has with oscar, despite how the media spins it: “i’m proud and honored that i got to share it with oscar, because we’ve had three now - the first two incredible years together where we helped the time get back to where they deserve to be and play our small role - but also we’ve had our year last year, where it gets a little bit more tense certainly. but at the end of the day, i think we’re both very different, but we’re both very alike in just our thoughts on how we want to treat formula one. it’s a sport we love, we love driving, winning etc. but when we come off the track, we both just want to sit down and have a laugh and just relax. we treat that the same, and therefore, we have a lot of respect for one another, disregarding what everyone says, what media says. we’re two young guys - he’s a bit younger now - but two young guys that share the same dream and will continue to always share the same dream. to win races, to win championships, all the way down the line for many more years. so pleasure to share it with him and i’m sure we’re going to have many more competitions and tough moments that makes everyone here sweat a little bit too much in the coming year”

Head coach Dave Aranda's full quote on what he would say to frustrated fans: "We’ve got a bunch of really, really good people in the program that are doing everything they can to get wins and to make it an entertaining product for the fans. It means so much when there are fans there and there’s a home-field environment. I look at the guys that are on our team right now, who have been through so much and are such quality football — really good football players — more than that, but just quality people. They’re the type of people that maybe some of the people who are talking about them knew them better, would be all for them, and support them no matter what. I think for them, to have it where their work is being rewarded with people that got their back in a critical game would be cool, but I understand what you’re saying. I can definitely see that."
