Stephanie Levitz: "A challenge that this government seems to have with itself and many of the bills that it puts forward that relate, they use the term national interest, is that it seems to always come from a business perspective first. It is never a people-centric perspective first."

That’s the whole point of neoliberalism; cater to corporations and assume everything else works itself out, or simply not care about everything else, depending on how right wing the neoliberal is

All too true. Profit before people. For a few years I thought we had put this notion behind us, but everywhere I look today at the leadership class it's all the same.

When we listen to people we get all sort of regulations and nothing gets built

Excellent point. This "national interest" argument is infamous as everyone knows whenever whomever wants to mislead the nation. WATCH OUT!

Canada’s national interests. Canada’s riches are resources from nature: agriculture, fisheries, forests, minerals, oil. Canada must use its riches, to provide the greatest good, to the most people, for the longest time possible. Canada must control its resources.

gosh… Canadian economy is suffering. We need to change it to be business driven or business centric economy… stop all these socialists shits

Working class has a more powerful ring to it than people-centric

I’m confused. There is no “national interest” without the people of Canada, who else could the “national” interest be? Moose? The Trans Canada? Talk about stretching an idea.

Oh fucking tiresome. Whine whine whine.

We gave him a Mandate to bring Canada into the future and make us a Leader. Thats what he is doing now some people feel he is going to fast. You can’t have it both ways. Time is of the essence right now.

The Trudeau government with its obsessive focus on pandering to the woke left damaged the economy. What you are seeing is a government that realizes it needs to move to center if it wants incomes to rise.

The Canada National Food School program is about people first

40 million Canadians might disagree with business perspective.

Matches this

Their bullshito only applies to legal persons, not living men and women

No it’s from a materialist perspective Production is what provides for people.

Bingo

Does she think healthcare and education come from the fairies?

In addition to her comments: This Toronto Star headline says all you need to know about how a ‘perceived progressive party’ is the allowed to do a complete 180 on their ideological footprint as set by the last decade. Take note that the Star has no issue with the Libs and their direction (much of which was stolen directly from Blue Team policy push). Instead, the focus is on the opposition party. Conclusion: Carney’s biggest hurdle is to convince his very own base that this direction (a very blue direction) is a solidly Red team idea. Once the average progressive hears it from a perceived progressive leader, it’s then consumed acceptable. Had it been Blue Team = EVIL

What does this even mean?
