He's a legend. It will be interesting to see how his ideas hold up.

If he truly believes that AI won't make more progress in science than humans have, he will be very surprised in 3-5 years. AlfaFold anyone? Biology is also a science. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Some science is about making superficial connections from voluminous amount of information. In this kind of science, AI will make progress.

I think our acceptance of shallow language is the issue not language itself. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But language of science is language, including math.

language is just the embedding space of the model. you still need to hypothesize and then prove the model.
