Steve didn’t personally focus on bottom line b/c Fred Anderson, CFO from ‘96 - ‘04, was extremely good & had already fixed much of Apple’s finances/ops before Steve came back. The rest of the company still watched finances. (I was there ‘98 and ‘02-‘04.)
