Steve Nash advice to undersized guards 🔥 When you’re undersized, skill isn’t optional, it’s the equalizer. You can’t rely on height or raw athleticism to level the playing field. You have to become elite at your craft: knockdown shooting, advanced ball control, and a high basketball IQ that keeps...

🔥 How to Get Noticed by Coaches (When You’re Not 6'7") Not every player is born with 6'7" height, elite athletic ability, or lights-out shooting out of the gate. But if you think physical gifts are the only way to catch a coach’s eye, PGC Basketball CEO Mano Watsa drops a powerful truth every athlete needs to internalize: "Effort is a skill—and it’s a choice." 💡 Why Hustle is Your Greatest Competitive Advantage Talent Opens Doors, Effort Keeps You There: High-level height and natural scoring get initial attention, but most players fall into the "undersized and still developing" category. Easier to Master Than Any Skill: Developing elite ball-handling or 40% three-point shooting takes thousands of reps over years. Making a high-effort play requires zero physical talent—it only takes a decision. Coaches Notice What Stand Out: Every good coach actively looks for the athlete who out-hustles, communicates, and consistently out-works everyone else on the floor. 🏀 The Takeaway for Players Stop making excuses for what you don't have—your size, your jump shot, or your athleticism. If you’re a smaller guard, one-foot finishes let you get the ball off before the help rotates and before the shot blocker has time to load up. Master these 3 finishes, and you’ll score around length more consistently without having to be the most athletic player on the floor. If you’re serious about becoming a more complete scorer, that’s exactly what I built the 30-Day Solo Hooper Blueprint for. Every workout is already planned out for you with ball handling, finishing, shooting, footwork, and game moves—all inside the app. Comment BLUEPRINT and I’ll send you the program!🏀🔥

If you want to learn how to break ankles, you have to learn how to shift the weight of your defender, and usually, you have to shift it twice! You’re going to have to make your moves at the right distance and use double jabs! If you make your move too close you’ll get jammed, if you make it too far away, your guy will recover. When you jab one way and go, it can work, but most good defenders can recover from one jab. However, when you double jab, defenders bite hard on the second move and can’t recover from their recovery! Learning to jab with your stutters, skips, your head and shoulders, and even your stick will allow you to shift your defender’s weight! Last, change your angle of approach! The hardest way to beat your guy is straight at him, if you angle left or right then attack you’ll get a natural shade advantage that will open up an opportunity!

A lot of infielders are scared of the short hop. Great infielders create it! Here are some keys to playing the short hop: 1️⃣ Move your feet The closer your glove is to the ball, the less that can go wrong. Move your feet to catch the ball as close to the ground as possible 2️⃣ Play from the ground up Playing under the ball softens our hands and allows us to play through it 3️⃣ Practice away from the field To get really good at fielding (or anything) you need to put in hours and hours of practice. There is not enough team practice time to get in the reps you need to play at a high level. You must take what you learned at practice and work on it at your house. The garage, basement, driveway, or backyard. Reps build trust. 4️⃣ Someone is always working It’s a big world. If you aren’t consistently sharpening your game, someone else is.

Amar'e Stoudemire says there is no point guard in today’s game that he would want to play with, it’s no true point guards in the NBA today: “Because for me, you know, as a big sometimes you rely on that ball coming to you. You can’t just grab the rebound and take it yourself and just do your own thing a lot of times, right? So, you need a point guard that can help facilitate the game with you. And I don’t really see a point guard right now in the league that’s that pass first, no look passing behind the back passing point guard what happend to that. I don’t understand where it’s at?” (Via Cousins with Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady)

My BIGGEST Takeaways For DEFENSE In #NBA2K27 So Far…🔒 After Playing And Testing Defense, There Are A LOT Of Things I’ve Started To Notice About What You ACTUALLY Need On Your Builds This Year… And You Have To STOP Playing Defense Like This Is NBA 2K26 Here’s What I’ve Learned So Far: - BLOCK - 84 - 93 Is The SWEET SPOT For Lockdowns And Bigs, I Think 84 - 93 Block Is Going To Be ALL You Need Throughout The Year, Assuming We Don’t Get Any Drastic Gameplay Changes For Primary Ball Handlers, 60 Block Is Actually Enough To Give You A Chance At Getting Stops. Anything Lower Than That Don’t Expect To Get Many Blocks At All Overall BLOCKS ARE OVERPOWERED RIGHT NOW - ON-BALL DEFENSE IS AMAZING On-Ball Defense Feels YEARS Ahead Of What We Had In NBA 2K26. But The Biggest Change Is Learning That You CAN’T Defend The Same Way We Have In Previous 2Ks. Your Positioning And What Defensive Input You Use At The Right Time Matters A LOT More - STOP OVERUSING RIGHT STICK DEFENSE Using Your Right Stick For Hands Up Defense And Shot Contests Works REALLY Well When You’re Trying To Contest A Shooter At The EXACT Moment They Pull Up. But If You Start Using It Too Early It Slows You Down A LOT And Can Give The Ball Handler An EASY Blow By Or Drive. The Right Stick Can Either HELP Your Defense A LOT Or HURT You Depending On WHEN You Use It - TURBO + INTENSE DEFENSE IS THE KEY Start Using Turbo + Intense Defense (RT/LT Or R2/L2) As A Combination. Learning When To Go Back And Forth Between The Two Makes It MUCH Easier To Stay In Front Of Your Matchup, Cut Off Driving Lanes And Get Into Better Positioning. Most Importantly, It Helps You Stay In Position And Preserve Your Energy For Blocks - PERIMETER DEFENSE + SPEED + AGILITY Perimeter Defense Works Hand In Hand With Your Speed And Agility In. Right Now, I Think: 82 - 92 Perimeter Defense, 85 - 90 Speed + Agility Is MORE Than Enough To Feel Great Defensively In The Current State Of The Game. You Don’t Need To Throw 99 Into Every Defensive Attribute To Stay In Front Of People. - STEALS FEEL OVERRATED High Steal Builds CAN Get Some Really Easy Pluck Steals Right Now… But I’ve Also Noticed A Lot Of Those Builds Sacrifice So Much To Get Their Steal That They Become A HUGE Liability Once Someone Gets Into The Paint. Unless Stealing The Ball Is A Major Part Of Your Role, I Wouldn’t Sacrifice Your Entire Defense Just To Get A 99 Steal Rating. - INTERIOR DEFENSE MATTERS A LOT I Think 82 - 89 Interior Defense Is Going To Be The SWEET SPOT. You Really Only Need A Few Important Badges, But DO NOT Let Anybody Convince You That Interior Defense Doesn’t Matter This Year. Because If You Ignore It You’re Going To Be FREE POINTS IN THE PAINT Even If You Feel Like You’re Timing Your Contests Correctly Defense In #NBA2K27 Feels REALLY GOOD Right Now

Behind the ball is how you get depth AND length out front. (Not one or the other) Here’s what it actually gives you: 1. You swing more connected and deeper. 2. The barrel enters earlier and stays in longer. You get both. 3. Depth behind what buys you length out front. Most guys are picking one or the other. 4. You sling the barrel through. You’re not shoving it or yanking it into the zone. 5. You actually use the ground. Behind the ball you turn. If you’re not using the ground, you’re probably sliding and pulling everything towards the ball. 6. Your bat speed becomes usable. Pushed and pulled bat speed still reads fast vs one pitch one speed. Only one of them shows up on the barrel, in the zone, on time vs pitching. — Cue for your next round: let the ball get deeper than usual, and turn behind a wall. You can scoot close to a net in front of you to get the feeling, too. Then vs moving ball. > Save this for when you need it > Send this to a hitter who needs it right now (And make sure you’re following)

Self feeds are one of the most underrated tools you have. It’s not ideal, but when you let your creativity take over, you can get real work in completely on your own. Add it to your training arsenal as an individual work option, or use it as a warm up before your main ground ball work. Here’s why it matters. Self feeds force your eyes to judge the hop and relay that to your body, getting your feet and hands on time together for the short hop. It looks easy. It’s not, especially when you’re learning it. But it’s one of the best ways to train your timing and eliminate in between hops. You’ll know instantly when you’re late. The hop gets too high, and that’s your sign you missed the short hop. Get creative. Get work in, even when it isn’t convenient.

Bar hop How It’s Done Start on one side of the stick with two targets at 7-10 yards and 1 yard apart. On the beep, engage the target directly in front of you with two shots, then engage the second target with two shots. Step over the stick and reengage the first target with two shots, and then the second target with two shots again. This drill is 8 shots total, with four on each target. Why It’s Done This drill is a great way to introduce movement into your training. If you're used to static shooting, this drill would be a great one to start with. It may be just one step, but getting your feet to do what they’re supposed to while shooting is harder than it looks. This drill also includes a couple of transitions, which will easily get you some Charlies and Deltas if you’re not careful. Things to Remember The goal is to make it sound like you're shooting one target. What I mean by that is you should try to shorten the time between targets and make the flow as smooth as possible. When you start and when you finish, be sure to check your stance. You don’t want to end up off balance. Bending your knees will help soften your movement. As always, make sure you are looking at a small spot and not just the whole target. It’s one of my favorite drill to do so give it a try! Thanks sis for the drill suggestion! Hannah

Kevin Durant says guards 6'2" and under are no longer at a premium as NBA starters “I don’t know if the 6'2" and under guard is at a premium no more as a starter. Maybe as a backup. You can’t get picked on defense because we’re playing such a pick-on game that they will literally, if you can’t guard, bring you up every play” “If you’re 6 feet, 6'1", and you’re not a bulldog like Davion Mitchell or Jrue Holidays on the defensive side, or you’re not an offensive flat-out savant like Kyrie, where you can score on dudes seven feet easily in an iso, then I just can’t see it” “Nowadays, offenses are giving the ball to their best player. I don’t care if you’re 6'9" or 6'10". If you’re out on that perimeter, Paolo Banchero out there, bring up Darius Garland. Those guards at that size, it’s going to be tough”

The key to installing a PBO is to keep the main thing the main thing. Explain to your players the most important principles of play and continuously emphasize them throughout the season. These principles will become a constraint or a guide that will get their attention and intentions. Players will self-organize with tasks (constraints) and if you allow them to complete these tasks, you will see them playing great team offense. You don’t need to explain every last detail, just get them started with the basics of shot selection, spacing, ball movement, creating advantages with matchups or 2-man game, and off-ball picking. Using constraints like an 8-9 second shot clock on a side will get them to flip the field. Or, if you’re not picking off-ball it’s a turnover. Or if you hang out on the crease it’s a turnover. These are simple ways to get your team to play incredible and unpredictable team offense. Obviously, installing a PBO in one minute isn’t going to be a time constraint for your average coach, but the point of this reel is you would be amazed at how well your team will play when you take off the reigns and focus on the principles. Throughout the season there will be glaring strengths and weaknesses that you will have to address, but again, use constraints to do the teaching and keep the focus on the Principles.

BIGGEST SHOOTING SECRETS In #NBA2K27 That You NEED To Know…🎯 After Playing And Testing Shooting This Year, There Are A Few Things I’ve Learned That Can Make A HUGE DIFFERENCE In How Consistently You Shoot! And YES… You Can DEFINITELY Shoot With A Lower 3PT Rating This Year #1 SET POINT Might Be The BEST Visual Cue This Year - SET POINT Has Been The Most Consistent Visual Shot Timing Cue For Me So Far. In Previous Years, PUSH Was The Wave, And RELEASE Worked Really Well Too… But With How Many Different And Awkward Catch Animations You Can Get In #NBA2K27, SET POINT Has Felt MUCH More Consistent Obviously Your Personal Preference Still Matters, But If You’re Struggling To Find Your Shot… TRY SET POINT #2 YES, YOU CAN SHOOT WITH A 70 - 79 3PT - You DO NOT Necessarily Need An 85, 90 Or 99 Three Point Rating To Be A Consistent Shooter. 70 - 79 3PT CAN ABSOLUTELY WORK. I’m Literally Using A 79 3PT In The Video. The Lower You Go, The More Your Timing, Badges, Hot Zones And Shot Selection Are Going To Matter… But If You KNOW Your Jumper? YOU CAN SHOOT! #3 A LOT Of The “CONTESTED” Shots You’re Passing Up Are Actually OPEN - This Is One Of The BIGGEST Things Players Still Haven’t Adjusted To A Defender Simply STANDING NEXT TO YOU Does NOT Automatically Mean You’re Contested… A Lot Of Defenders Are Failing To Properly Use The RIGHT STICK To Contest, Which Means Shots We Would’ve Considered “Contested” In Previous 2Ks Can Still Register MUCH More Open This Year. Once You Understand The New Contest System… You’ll Start Realizing You Have WAY More Shooting Opportunities Than You Think #4 GET YOUR HOT ZONES BEFORE PLAYING ONLINE - This Might Be One Of The MOST IMPORTANT Tips On This Entire List Go Into SET AND FIRE And Work On Your Hot Zones FIRST! You Can Potentially Get Them Set Up Within Just 3 - 5 Games, And They Can Make A HUGE Difference Once You Start Shooting Online. Don’t Wait Until You’re Already Playing REC Or Park To Start Building Them. GET YOUR HOT ZONES FIRST! #5 PRACTICE ONLINE SHOOTING IN MyCOURT - Do NOT Just Shoot Around Offline And Assume Your Timing Is Ready For Online Games. Go Into MyCOURT, Find The Kiosk And Activate The ONLINE SETTINGS. Now You Can Practice Your Jumper under conditions that better prepare you for online timing. This Is WAY Better Than Learning Your Release While Your Teammates Watch You Go 1/8 #6 UNLOCK YOUR SHOOTING BADGES BEFORE GOING ONLINE - PLEASE Stop Taking A Fresh Build Straight Online With Barely Any Badges And Then Wondering Why You Can’t Shoot… Get Your Important Shooting Badges FIRST… Learn Your Jumpshot… Get Your Hot Zones… THEN Go Online! Not Only Will Shooting Feel Better, But You Won’t Destroy Your Shooting Percentage While You’re Still Learning Your Build #7 FADEAWAYS Feel MORE CONSISTENT Than Some STANDSTILL SHOTS - This Is One Of The STRANGEST Things I’ve Noticed So Far… Certain FADEAWAYS Feel MORE CONSISTENT Than Regular Standstill Jumpers With How Strong Off The Dribble Shooting Can Feel, Learning A Reliable Fade Could Become One Of The MOST IMPORTANT Shots This Year #8 BUY YOUR SHOOTING BOOSTS - This Is Probably The Most OBVIOUS Tip… But People STILL Forget It! If You’re Serious About Maximizing Your Shooting: BUY YOUR SHOOTING BOOSTS! Linebackers!🚨🚨🚨 As linebackers, we have to key the guards for run reads, high hats (pass), and for pulling guards. Linebackers have to communicate with each other when they see a puller, screaming “pull, pull, pull!”. The linebacker to the side of the pulling guard has to shuffle over the top staying inside out of the ball carrier. The other linebacker away from the pulling guard has to either box or spill the puller to the other linebacker depending on their defensive scheme. In this video they are boxing the puller back to the other linebacker. It is very important for the linebacker shuffling over the top to keep his depth and not stepping up field. Offensive lineman wants you to step up field so they can cut you off and make a running lane for the running back. #LBU

Tarris Reed Jr provides a very Spurs like answer on whether winning is a skill: “It is. It honestly truly is. And UConn taught me that. It’s the everyday showing up who you’re going to be every day. It’s the every possession. It’s the work that is really unseen. And it comes with unselfishness. Like there’s a lot of things on the court that you’re not going to get credit for. You know like my screening like for the longest time is like ‘Oh shoot I got to screen for these guys. They shoot the shot. Like what do I get?’ There’s no box score for me, there’s no stat that says ‘I got these dudes open’. But it’s like, this is what you have to do to win.. So being unselfish, looking at your right, looking at your left, being able to really sacrifice and go to war for your brother.” We got a good one 👏 #GoSpursGo #PorVida

This is the Tesla Cybercab remote. You can control the car straight from your phone. When your Cybercab gets close, the app turns into this screen. The color at the top matches the front lightbar so you know it’s yours. The arrow points you straight to it. License plate right there. Then you control it from your pocket. Futuristic horn sound. Flash the lights. Open/close the butterfly doors. Open/close the trunk. And you don’t even have to tap anything if you don’t want to. Tesla’s Cybercab guide says the closest door can even automatically open when the Cybercab detects your phone. If something is blocking the door, you can also hold the button in the app to control it manually too. Tesla moved the whole cockpit into your pocket. The car drives itself. Your phone becomes the key, the remote, and the interface. That’s what a vehicle looks like when it was built from day one for autonomy.

Perfect 1v1 Drill For Finding Your LOCKDOWN Defenders! Coach LoGalbo takes you through a drill that is perfect for finding your lockdown defenders that you can rely on when the lights turn on. As Nick LoGalbo says, it's a great way to find your "Rambo" which is a defender that you can rely on to defend your opponent’s best ball handler in the full court. And, an added offensive benefit to this drill, is that it allows for offensive players to work on their ball handling in the face of defensive pressure! This 1 on 1 Contain Drill is from Nick LoGalbo's Outer Third Defense (No Middle Defense). That's why the goal of this basketball drill is to force the opponent's primary ball handlers to the outer thirds of the basketball court (and out of the middle!) as soon as they catch the ball. By doing this, it allows the defense to dictate the entry pass to one side of the floor. By keeping the ball on the outer third of the basketball court, you can overload the backside of the defense which helps control the opponents passing lanes, deters easy passes and helps eliminate the dribble drive. You can incorporate this drill every other day in practice to re-emphasize to your defenders the importance of keeping the ball handlers out of the middle of the basketball court. Instructions and Keys to the 1 on 1 Contain Drill: - Give the ball handler a cushion. This makes it easier to contain them in the outer thirds. - Chest and contest a crossover to the middle. You do not turn your body. You must beat the offensive player to the spot and turn them back to the outer thirds. - If you get beat, you sprint ahead of the ball. You do not continue shuffling. - Keep the ball in the outer thirds the entire length of the court. It does not stop after the offensive player gets past half court. - The goal of the drill is to simply keep the ball handler in the outer thirds. - The defense should focus on beating the ball to the spot and chest to contest defense. - As soon as the first group gets to halfcourt, the second group begins. - After a group makes it all the way to the opposite baseline, they switch positions and get in line to repeat the drill going the opposite direction. Coaching Tips - Once a player gets chest to contest, they must spring back to get in front of the ball. Your goal is not to be running side by side. You must get in front of the offensive player. This prevents the offensive player from getting an angle to the basket. - After running through the drill for a specified amount of time, switch directions so the offensive players must focus on using both hands as their primary dribbling hand. - It is important to mix up players rather than like positions always competing against each other, so that players get used to guarding a wide variety of positions. It forces the players to adjust defensively regarding speed and skill. - Another positive of this drill is it gives you the ability to assess who your Rambo is: players who can work the point guard up the floor.
