Chuck Norris, a martial artist and actor, has passed away at the age of 86. His family released the following statement: “It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. For 47 years now, he has dedicated his life to Ugandan theatre, touching countless lives through his work as an actor and playwright. His passion for the craft remains as inspiring today as it was when he began his journey in 1979. This weekend, we have a chance to celebrate and support a living legend. Aloysius Matovu and his team will be performing at the National Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, with two shows each day, one at 2:30 PM and another at 7:00 PM. The performances will celebrate mothers and the special place they hold in our lives. If you can, please make time and attend. The best hire I ever made was a 12 year old kid from LA. His name is Eric Pham. He was making Fortnite montages in his bedroom. The Israeli news channel uploaded this Israeli drone footage finally showing them killing a Palestinian fighter thinking it’d break our spirits but this melted our hearts and left us in awe. What a brave brother. What was going through his mind in his final moments? What was going through his mind as he ran alone towards the next building to stop the oppressors from advancing and heading towards the civilians. The son of Palestine picked up arms to protect his abandoned people as the world leaders and organisations watch the genocide play out before our eyes. What an honour for the Ummah to have such people among us. What an honour for the people of Palestine. What an honour for the people of Gaza. What an honour for the resistance. What an honour for his city. What an honour for his loved ones. What an honour for him. ❤️🥲 He raises his index shahada finger testifying to the Oneness of Allah after being hit in the back with a shrapnel yet somehow musters up all his energy and courage to fall into one final sujood as he departs from his world. This is how he will be raised on the day of judgment in front of Allah! Allahu Akbar. Abandoned by the whole world here is this man whose faith and conviction in the words of Allah remain steadfast as he supports our brothers, mothers and babies in Gaza. He puts himself as a shield in between the oppressed and the oppressor. Allah was enough for him and he couldn’t have asked for a better way to return back to Allah. We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear friend and colleague, Rep. Doug LaMalfa. Doug was a devoted public servant who deeply loved the people of Northern California and never stopped working for them. He believed in this country, in our work, and in the responsibility we have to serve every constituent with care and humility. He was one of the kindest men to ever serve in this institution, and he will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with his wife Jill, their four children, and all who loved him.

Today I met a bright young man from my constituency whose mother proudly shared that he had passed for Calabar High. She brought him to me with a request, for a laptop to help him on his journey. I spoke with him about the importance of education and the responsibility he carries to honour his potential and care for his mother. I see promise in him, and I believe in what he can become with the right support. I will be providing him with a laptop to help him take the next step. Because when we invest in our youth, we invest in the future of Jamaica.
