Stop buying table saws they said... proceeds to spend 3 hours and $40 on wood and bolts to make a slightly worse table saw Still impressive tho 👏

Worth it though 😂 DIY always starts as saving money and ends as a new hobby

No blade guard, no riving knife, no bump stop. A proper table saw is dangerous enough, this is foolhardy.

@Gunstar_One Valid concern. Safety first, always 👍

Incredibly dangerous and stupid. If you are going to do something like this just plunge the saw into the board.

JPF's profile picture
JPF4 months ago

Buy stupidity insurance instead…….highly dangerous and fingers will be lost.

Safety always comes first. Proper precautions and protective gear make a big difference when working on projects like this

buddy ass using a string to pull the saw trigger, this gotta be dumbest DIY ever

Arya Stark's profile picture
Arya Stark4 months ago

Can't say I'd recommend it, but you've got to admire the creativity😂

How do you turn it on and off? Aparently most of the people on this thread have never used a skill saw. This will get someone hurt that’s in you

No way that DIY fence is straight.

Arya Stark's profile picture

camera angle isn't doing it any favors 😂

Im not letting someone tell me anything about crafting or woodworking, who’s using a flathead for a phillips fastener (for a staged video!)

Arya Stark's profile picture
Arya Stark4 months ago

It’s just a staged demo, not a real build. Focus is the idea, not tool accuracy 👍

Half the bots commenting here would end up sooo injured if they tried this in real life. Good luck. What’s your plan to stop the saw later when you’re using it and a cut starts to bind? Tie the power cord to your leg and pull on it? 😂

I'm calling BS, how many circular saws have switch locks? What ... zip tie the switch?

Arya Stark's profile picture
Arya Stark4 months ago

Most circular saws have a safety lock, but zip-tying the switch defeats the safety feature and is not safe at all

Man... I'm not even going to get in on the main shit or why that's a bad idea but what's pressing me atm is I'm not fixing to have to break out a screwdriver every time I'm moving the guide. Buddy better put some knob bolts on that bitch.

Now install one of these!

You go ahead and do this with a 4 x 8 or 5 x 10 sheet.

Can't wait for the kickback from no riving knife and a guide that isn't square/parallel.

….NO freaking way. Not using this contraption. What is holding the switch “on”? I wouldn’t use this (joke of a table saw unless I had to cut a piece of wood in order to escape a deserted island.

that drop cut he did is a pro level cut. if you normies out there try it there is a good chance you need the hospital

You are going to get someone hurt.

Arya Stark's profile picture
Arya Stark4 months ago

If that’s the concern, it shouldn’t be shared like this. It can lead to real harm

Great way to lose a couple fingers

SinnerD2010's profile picture
SinnerD20104 months ago

If you do this, PLEASE gap your saw blade better. That is a huge fire risk.

Arya Stark's profile picture
Arya Stark4 months ago

Good point, safety matters a lot. I’ll make sure the blade gap is set properly next time to avoid any risk 👍

Bobby Moore's profile picture

🤣🤣🤣 These saws stop as soon as u release your finger from the trigger button . For that reason “ I’m out “ Shit idea

Donald's profile picture

That looks dangerous as hell. Spend the money on a table saw.

Arya Stark's profile picture

Fair point 👍 a table saw would make this way more professional

Sure seems like a lot of work when you could jus buy a table saw!

HollywoodBrainrot's profile picture

No blade guard, no riving knife, exposed spinning blade right in front of your hands… this is how people lose fingers in 0.2 seconds. Cool concept but please don’t actually use it like this.

Arya Stark's profile picture
Arya Stark4 months ago

@VictoriaJacs 100% agree — that exposed blade hopper waiting to happen. Cool idea, terrible execution. Safety first!

Hey dingbat!! They already have tools for that….. they call them table saws!!

Seg 🏆's profile picture

Just wait for the kickback and somebody gets seriously hurt. Tools like this should be respected otherwise people loose body parts.

I once saw a table that was bigger than me. I walked underneath it. I never bought it, because it was too big. So Ive never stopped, because I've never started
