Thank God say na OGogoro I dey drink

Nobody can ask me to leave this app. The comedy show here has no mate. As long as you are healthy, that is, you don't have certain kidney conditions, congestive heart failure, liver failure or head injury, there are no practical health reasons to cut down on water intake. Taking 3 litres of water daily is a very healthy practice when we are healthy. It makes the work of the kidneys easier, unlike his claim that taking a lot of water stresses the kidneys. The best analogy on how water helps the working efficiency of the kidneys is this: Imagine having to carry 100 bags of cement from Lagos to Ibadan before the close of the day between 8 am and 8pm (just like the kidneys have to remove all the dangerous metabolites and toxins we produce in our body daily), and you have to do that either by using a Keke Marwa (a tricycle which can only pick 10 bags at time) or a Toyota truck which can take 25-30 bags each trip. One process is definitely easier and achievable while the other is a tough task. When you drink a good amount of water, it moves from your intestines into the bloodstream. This increases the ease with which the kidneys can work on the blood to move metabolites and toxins in the blood into the urine ( that is, hemofiltration is enhanced by a larger volume of water in the blood just like the movement of those cement bags is enhanced by using a bigger vehicle). But when there is any of liver disease, heart disease, or heart failure (congestive), any water you drink tends to move from the blood into the tissues (e.g., into the legs where it causes edema), instead of moving from the blood to the kidney. This movement of water into tissue spaces occurs by different mechanisms in congestive heart failure, kidney failure and liver failure. That is why there is a need to cut down on water intake in those conditions. But when you are healthy, drink enough water `as much water as you can be comfortable with. The more, the better for your kidneys!
