500 players running in the same Three.js world — still holding 60+ FPS. 😄 A few days ago I was happy with stable terrain rendering. Now the world is filled with hundreds of moving players, chunk streaming, instanced models, and smooth transitions between real chunks and placeholder terrain. While learning Unreal Engine 5, I decided to port over most of Hyperion to it to see if I could potentially move my workflows over to UE5. Although it worked decently well, it didn't work well enough to allow me to change over entirely. Hyperion is simply too complex of an asset for real-time workflows (or at least is limited due to my knowledge of said workflows). 131 4K-8K UDIMs at over 8 channels and a solid amount of shaders with layering being the biggest bottleneck. I couldn't even match the shading setup to what I have in RenderMan, UE gave me a warning that the material was too complex. I was using the new Substrate materials, which mimic RenderMan LAMA shaders. The render below is using the pathtracer. As you can see there are some random flickering parts which I couldn't fix during my tests. This render of course doesn't have any displacement either (which Hyperion heavily relies on). I think Unreal Engine has a very bright future, but it is still limited by todays hardware technology for high end VFX work. Maybe in a few years I will give it another try when hardware improves and the engine becomes a bit more versatile in feature-set.

I am unsure if the Raj Shamani team did a background check (before or after) on the podcast as per the claim of Prashant Desai - Go check my LinkedIn Post - But my team did. Here's what we found. (if you are emotionally attached to ghee, stop reading right away) Here's what Prashant's LinkedIn post says: "Ghee is lipolytic, increases lipids in the blood & hence reduces cholesterol. Ghee contains Short Chain Fatty Acids (best fats), CLA and fat-soluble vitamins like A, E & D, best for your heart health. Ghee also keeps cancer at bay and your blood pressure on the down low." But if he had actually studied the studies, he would have known that ghee doesn't decrease cholesterol; in fact, it increases it. There is a reason why Actual doctors ask you to consume ghee in moderation. Here is the HUMAN study: That clearly states: "This study showed that ghee that is predominantly saturated fats had an increasing effect on plasma apo B and non-HDL-cholesterol compared with olive oil, adding further evidence to the existing recommendations to replace dietary fats high in SFA with dietary fats high in unsaturated fats to reduce CVD risk." In the video, Prashant says he eats 15 spoons of ghee daily, maybe good for him. But if you are reading this, please don't make this mistake. Consume ghee in moderation, like on chapati or in rice/dal, for taste and flavour. And don't consume it like how your dada nana used to; you are sitting in an AC cabin working on a chair 12 hours a day, taking cigarette breaks often and drinking alcohol on weekends. And Don't hate me. I am just a messenger. And stop getting emotionally attached to a food item. Keep your health on priority, not your ego.

Three more replications of diamagnetism in LK-99 A re-cap of who they are and where to find them: Andrew McCalip working out of the Varda Space Industries laboratories has replicated the apparent diamagnetic properties of LK-99 in the video attached. He did so following the recipe originally published by the Korean team using tools like a blowtorch and oven. Normally in a Type-II superconductor current can flow and be conducted internally in different directions however the magnetic field might induce it, as well as trap or pin magnetic flux lines internally, thus the Meissner effect might be considered the combination of several phenomenon and properties at once. been getting a lot of qs on how i vibe coded this demo. and the answer is: stop acting like a coder and start acting like a PM! my exact playbook👇 1. logic first ignore the UI/graphics. focus strictly on how it works. do a massive brain dump of every requirement into a plain txt file and drop it in your root folder. make it exhaustively detailed. 2. the stack · Nano Banana 2 (tiles/textures/3D refs) · Tripo AI (turning the 2D pics into actual 3D models) · Cursor + Opus 4.6 (doing the heavy lifting) · Netlify (deploy) 3. hire the AI PM feed your brain dump to an LLM. tell it to write a technical spec sheet like a senior PM would. drop that in the root too. 4. the scrum master have it break the entire project down into a markdown checklist by phases. notice we still haven't touched the codebase yet. that's the point. 5. let it cook go to your agent in Cursor and literally just prompt "Start Phase 1". test locally. bugs? tell it to fix. works? "Start Phase 2". loop this until you're done. Now you can focus on visuals, refine them with the agent. And yes, it can deploy it for you too if you give it perms. stop rushing to the editor. architect the idea and let the AI sweat the code. Open sourced repo in the qt post below

APPRECIATION POST ✨ Would love to take a moment to Thank and show Appreciation to everyone who came to support our beloved Lingling Kwong with the most loudest cheers 🗣️ First and foremost (I) Admin Sha was planning on taking a break . Diagnosed with a Heart Complication that forced me to get hospitalized and limited my ability to move in a daily basis hence decided to take a break & try comeback more active next year. But that plan got postponed with the news saying P’Ling was coming I jumped out of my bed out of excitement & happiness and jumped straight to planning all the things we had to do for the visit. To be able to represent our fans here in Malaysia was a big honor yet a big responsibility we had to take on. Despite all the challenges our team have been through we made it this far with only 3 Admins pushing through all the hardwork to make this event memorable for both P’Ling and the fans. There's something about design that truly makes me happy. Before I was diagnosed with a complete SCI, I loved building thing with my hands and trying to make them unique and beautiful. The accident didn't just take my mobility, it robbed me of my creative drive. I didn't I would ever get that back that was up until Neuralink came into the picture. I was very serious about applying but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Then Noland Arbaugh comes into the picture and I see his video and I saw how passionate he was toward the whole ide and that was like a switch. I want to thank Noland because if I hadn't seen that video I wouldn't be typing this message with my thoughts. So the day I gained control of the device I had the guys install Autodesk Fusion and the first night I had my first part designed by BCI. I have been designing things non-stop since. Now lets talk tools and the first one is the ArcDroid it is a CNC robot that holds a plasma torch and can cut profiles in sheet metal. I have made numerous signs, letters and parts with this and i love it. I have also had the chance to help the local high school install and setup their CNC plasma table. I love being able to share my knowledge with others and show new technology to kids that want to learn. The next one everybody is more familiar with is the Bambu Lab X1C. It is my first 3D printer and I had no idea how dang handy these things were! I can go from thought, Neuralink, Fusion, X1C and poof! You have your part all in a matter of like a hour. I make everything from parts for my wheelchair or RC ✈ to toys for my nephew. These devices have completely changed my life. I now have my creative outlet back and I'm not done looking for new things to try. I'm thinking a laser next!!!😎 Thank you Elon Musk for the opportunity to showcase my skills, I'm extremely grateful🙏

This post about bench press safety escaped containment and got a lot of people commenting in disagreement that safeties/spotter arms would've saved him. And in truth, my language below was a little too absolute: safeties MIGHT have saved his life (though even if so, would not have prevented all damage), but it's far from certain that they would have, so I stand by the overall sentiment. I will explain in detail below. The spotter arms have to be set below the top of your arched chest or else they’ll interfere with every rep - you'll clang the bar on the safeties, which not only severely interrupts proper technique and performance, but can also be potentially injurious in its own right as the clanging against the safeties takes you out of the rhythm of the rep and leads to uneven and chaotic force application demands mid-rep. The safeties can’t be set a mere milimeter or even a half inch below the chest: both because most racks have 2-3 inch hole spacings that don't allow such finely calibrated setting, but even if they do - also because as a gross movement pattern, not a fine movement pattern, you can’t control the movement of the bar precisely and accurately enough not to clang the safeties if they’re so close to your chest. Human beings performing gross movement patterns simply lack such fine control: on heavy sets, the bar might be slightly uneven on one side, you might lose a touch of your arch over the course of the set, etc... and end up clanging the safeties anyway, if they're set so close to the top of your arched chest. These issues are not form errors that can be prevented with proper training, but are inherent limitations in the human capability to control gross motor pattern movements at a heavy weight. Thus, the safeties have to be far enough below your chest in order to not interfere with the set itself, such that they can’t possibly catch the bar before it hits your chest in the case of a sudden catastrophic drop. The proper placement for the safeties is far enough below your chest so as not to interfere with the normal execution of the set and so the bar never touches the safeties at all during the set, even with the inherent human limitations of gross motor pattern control. But high enough such tha - if you find yourself unable to successfully press the bar to lockout - you can bring the bar under control back down to your chest, exhale and drop your arch, and the bar will ideally now rest on the safeties instead of your chest and you can crawl and slither out from under it. Worst case, you can roll the bar slightly upwards and the safeties will soon take it, well before it would lie on your neck. I have an example of using the safeties this way in the video below, with 485 lbs. The ability to set this position with precision and accuracy depends on the equipment you're using: Some racks/benches have 1 inch spacings for this purpose, which is excellent and allows greater precision in safety placement, but most common racks have 2-3 inches between holes and thus people must often have the safeties a little lower than they'd ideally be. The main point is the proper use and purpose of safeties in the bench press is not really to catch a very rare catastrophic sudden drop onto your chest, but to allow you to survive the much more common situation of a normal failed rep. Could they theoretically save your life in such a situation where you drop it? Yes, they might. They won't stop the bar before it hits your chest but they might reduce the impact by stopping the bar from going further down and reducing the impact.
