Stop joystick/remote controlling your players decisions. You are not helping their decision making ability by controlling their decision making. You are restricting their development and long term performance. This especially applies to youth football

Rightly said. We give them the tools, but how they use them is up to them. In the pre-match chat. I encourage them to use what we trained during the week.

Thinking about all the “ new methods”, a question for those training with elite players will be so you guys use a method that develops players autonomy just to if one make it to pro can be ready to follow instructions and do whatever the coach wants?

Always wonder what Arteta does in training if he still needs to practically stand on the pitch and literally point to where he wants his players to move.

Question? How would you go about trying to implement the correct decision making within game with hampering what you mentioned above? Tricky one

Depends on the player(s), circumstances and tactical situation. Don’t see the value in removing a coaching method from the menu if in certain moments it works and can help players decision making.
