Storm surge from Hurricane #Idalia in Cedar Key, FL this morning:

Cedar Key is just what it's name implies a KEY. A key is a small, low-lying coral island. It barely sticks out of the water.

@chigrl It looks like that was built on the ground and not elevated. Probably old construction.

I feel like white folks who took over Florida didn't care to make the necessary infrastructure builds because they had no knowledge or competency! So, let certain areas suffer ... sigh
