You can see a couple of shots I worked on for this sequence for Innocence (The Holographic Arowana fish inside the glass sphere.) Neat to see the final sequence alongside the finished storyboard (ekonte). I also remember editing that animatic for the DVD release because an animatic (vkonte) was never made for the actual production. Oshii-sama just timed each shot in his head and noted the shots duration in the storyboard. Then production just made the shot lengths according to that. It was often said the Oshii-sama was not good at drawing, but it didn't really matter in the end. His cinematic sensibilities and thoughtful storytelling carried through wonderfully.

Something about seeing these simple storyboards is so hopeful to me, Ive seen so many artist makw amazing boards and sometimes I wonder if the simple ones are enough, it sees to do the trick for some productions

this movie is absolutely the culmination of Oshii's obsession with Bassett hounds and likely just captures his home life in excruciating detail

I’m really impressed by the clarity of those boards. The layout and poses come through so strongly.

I have always appreciated experimental animation and would totally watch storyboard GITS.
