On the 7th anniversary of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, I still think this is Leonardo DiCaprio’s best performance. He lost the Oscar to Joaquin Phoenix for Joker & it’s a decision that’s aged horribly by the Academy. DiCaprio’s comedic range in this film changed my expectations of Leo as an actor. He reached another level with this film, which also happens to be Tarantino’s best.

Daniel Kaluuya is arguably the best actor of his (my) generation. Kaluuya is as good as any actor in the world south of 40. I’ve always felt that COVID overshadowed his Oscar win for Best Supporting Actor for Judas & The Black Messiah. This is an all-time great performance.

Shadow Love🎬 I actually like how this scene treats the divine artifact. It isn’t just some convenient power-up he can use whenever he wants, the power is literally more than his body can handle. To me, that makes the artifact way more interesting, because every time he uses it there’s a genuine chance the power could consume him instead.

Please for whatever it will take, who can locate this talented challenged boy? Can we locate him and help him? It is obvious his parents left him, not knowing what they can do. Being challenged like this is not a crime. The boy is very brilliant, his diction to sing in Yoruba is fantastic. He only needs help to be educated and he will turn out well. Please help me find him! Willem Dafoe turns 71 today. An actor defined by his versatility, Dafoe is always interesting. His Oscar-nominated role in sean baker’s The Florida Project is impossible to forget. Dafoe shows a lot of range in this performance, which doesn’t require him to wear a crazy costume or embrace a crazy character. This is one of the more “normal” parts Dafoe has ever taken on. And he knocks it out of the park. 🎂
