Students built a drone that flies through air, dives underwater, maneuvers beneath the surface, and shoots back up. All in one sequence. Their own university listed the applications: ship inspections, search and rescue, and military ops. If this is what undergrads can build openly, the classified version of this... show more

The physics of water density is 800x higher than air. Whoever solves the battery drain for those transitions wins the entire market.

Great. Next up underwater kamikaze drones you can’t see, until you realize it blew a hole in your ship.

Mind-blowing. Undergrads just built a real-life sci-fi drone that transitions air → water → air seamlessly. The fact that this is the public version is actually terrifyingly impressive. The military applications must be insane already. Future is here. 🚀🔥

A drone that flies through the sky — and swims underwater. Yes, you read that right. One student just built it. Andrei Copaci created this hybrid drone for his Bachelor’s project — 3D-printed, self-coded, and powered by variable-pitch propellers that adapt mid-flight to move seamlessly between air and water. And it actually works. To me, this isn’t just a cool gadget. It’s a wake-up call. We’re watching the line between “student projects” and “industry breakthroughs” disappear. One person, a laptop, and a printer can now do what once required millions in funding and government labs. So here’s the real question: If innovation is becoming this accessible — what happens to companies and industries that still think disruption comes only from big budgets? #AI #Innovation #Technology #Robotics #FutureOfWork #STEM

A drone or a submarine? 🫧 A student just built a drone that flies through the air and swims underwater — and it actually works. As part of his Bachelor’s project, Andrei Copaci created a 3D-printed, hybrid drone with variable pitch propellers, meaning the blades shift mid-flight to adapt between air and water. Just a laptop, a printer, and a smart idea. The drone is fully custom-coded and transitions seamlessly between flying and swimming. We're entering a new era, where curious students can prototype what once took massive funding and R&D efforts.

Drone that can swim! 🏊🏼 Scientists in China have developed a special drone called TJ-FlyingFish that can both fly in the air and dive underwater. This lightweight drone, weighing only 1,6 kilograms, has four rotor arms that help it move efficiently in both environments. It can reach depths of 10 feet underwater, move at two meters per second, and stay submerged for 40 minutes. 🤿 It can hover for six minutes per battery charge in the air. This unique drone could be useful for search-and-rescue missions, marine research, and offshore construction in the future! ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news →

Students at North Carolina A&T State University partnered with the Greensboro chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build beds for children in the Triad who do not have one of their own. This is what community looks like. Meeting a real need, restoring dignity, and showing that when people come together, they can make a lasting difference.

This is a building in Iran university of science and technology (IUST) that was targeted today in Tehran. This university -one of the leading engineering universities of Iran- is where I got my BSc and MSc degree in engineering years ago. This aggression is all about Iran gaining power via science. You can not stop this nation. The war will boost Iranian science and technology.

There is one city in America that isn't fully mapped and its in Minnesota. This guy decided to fly a drone over the neighborhood to finish off the work google maps started. Google took down the mapping of the city and the images. So my question is here, What the hell is going on in this one city in Minnesota that makes it that way?

“If all AI is built on one platform, we'll only have a certain envelope of future outcomes. Whereas if the future of AI is built on a broad population of platforms by a broad population of users and organizations and nations, we're much more likely to experience the benefit of this technology rapidly and avoid the risks.” Andy Hock and Danyal of Callosum on the vision behind the new Cerebras-Callosum partnership.

📺This is the classic scene from Star Trek (“Tomorrow Is Yesterday”) where the Enterprise is mistaken for a UFO. Thrown back to 1960s Earth, the ship gets picked up on radar and intercepted by a U.S. Air Force F-104. The tractor-beam sequence that follows — and the pilot’s complete confusion — is pure original-series charm. It’s one of the more playful time-travel episodes and still holds up as a fun collision between the future and the mid-20th century military. A great example of early Star Trek having fun with its own premise. ❓Do you consider “Tomorrow Is Yesterday” one of the stronger Season 1 episodes? 👇 #StarTrek #TOS #TomorrowIsYesterday #Enterprise #SciFi #ClassicTV

This sequence from Calvento Files: The Movie is one of the well executed and edited scenes in a Filipino movie. It perfectly build up the suspense until the climactic reveal of Valerie’s decaying body from the well. Horrifying and literally a scene that you can smell. 1/2

This is the operation Mamdani is running in New York right now. They’re teaching UK kids that black people built Stonehenge, Nero married a trans woman, and ancient slaves got “gender transitions” through mutilation. Ideological vandalism dressed up as education, rewriting the past to fit the narrative and mutilate the West. One small rewrite at a time to own the story, past, present, and future.

This isn't decentralized systems like Bitcoin or building on Ethereum or even Solana. This is taking what companies learned from what was built in a more decentralized manner that people could capitalize from, and creating their own internal systems using the technology" "It's plumbing. You've heard me have this conversation about the DTCC, who settles 4.5 quadrillion in volume a year, but them adopting the technology means almost nothing for any of us" "Because they're just replacing the pipes of their own systems to make them faster and cheaper, but that is within their own internal system"

The climate crisis isn't theoretical. It's real, and it's happening now. The Trump administration is trying to erase this reality by repealing the EPA’s endangerment finding. I'm fighting back, because all Americans deserve clean air and a future we can count on.
