Bengaluru A major accident was narrowly averted late Thursday night on #Indiranagar’s bustling 100 Feet Road when a drunk driver lost control of his car, jumped a divider, and rammed into a popular restaurant. At around 11:35 pm, CCTV cameras captured the speeding #Skoda driven by 42 year old Derrick hurtling down from the 18th Main Road toward 100 Feet Road. Unable to negotiate a scheduled left turn due to excessive speed and intoxication, the vehicle mounted the central divider, struck a parked two-wheeler and slammed into the exterior wall of the restaurant. A video of a commuter arguing with a traffic police officer at Bengaluru’s Hebbal Bridge has gone viral, after traffic was stopped for a VIP/political convoy on August 9. According to the commuter, vehicles were held for more than 30 minutes as the convoy passed. During the wait, he also heard a siren, which he said could have been an ambulance. Frustrated by the prolonged stoppage, the commuter raised his voice at the officer managing traffic.
