Part of me says he’s right in a realistic way. But then again, another part of me says that they missed the ChatGPT moment, which many thought was impossible five years ago. I think Google, which I believe is a great company in many fronts, has a lot of internal and regulatory pushback for breakthroughs in AI, and I believe that’s partly because they’re a huge company with a lot of media attention. Any wrong move could cost them a lot, but then again a company with budget like open AI comes along and seizes the moment and the show. Two edged sword…

these guys are going to be caught flat footed again by OpenAI then they start making it possible. remember without OpenAI, AI would still be in some top secret big tech lab somewhere where it can only be accessed by engineers, scientists and researchers

The only model that has the potential for reaching AGI is AlphaEvolve. None of the other models have the capability of getting there.

He knows LLMs don't have reasoning ability at all. Nada nothing. If we can't come up with an algorithm that actually reasons we'll hit that plateu sooner than people think. OAI keeps lying to people coz they want more money, Sam is a scam artist
