I hear a lot of talk today about “hip and shoulder separation.” Yes, there’s a differential there. But honestly, I don’t want to think about it at all. When I swing, I just rotate from my core as hard as I can — like I’m throwing a hook at a heavy bag. It’s simple! I’ve never once heard a boxing coach tell a fighter to “separate” for power. They teach you to rotate your body in sequence. The power shows up naturally. The golf swing works the same way. Athletic rotation from the ground up. Simple. Powerful. Repeatable.
