Seth Godin gave a masterclass on how to build an unforgettable brand in the age of AI: 1. Marketing is not about spend. It is about creating the conditions for other people to eagerly spread your idea. 2. Authenticity is overrated. What customers actually want is consistency. Show up the same way every single time and that is worth more than any Super Bowl ad. 3. Everything your company does is a marketing decision. How you answer the phone. What you charge. How you design things. Marketing is not a department. It is everything. 4. Trust is simple. Make a promise. Keep it. Especially when it is hard. 5. Successful brands are built with your customers talking about you. Not you talking about you. 6. A brand is not a logo. A brand is a promise. Nike has a brand. Hyatt has a logo. One of them you know exactly what to expect. The other you do not. 7. You are measuring the wrong things. Follower counts. Stock price. Open rates. False proxies will take your business in the wrong direction faster than anything else. 8. Social media followers mean nothing. Godin has 400,000 Instagram followers and says if he posts about a new book maybe 12 people buy it. The number is a distraction. 9. Stop trying to be famous. The goal is not to get more famous. The goal is to get less famous and more trusted. 10. Average marketing reaches average people. Average people will not buy your product. You need the people who will talk about you, challenge you, and eagerly pay more for better. 11. When you pick your customers you pick your future. Stop trying to reach everyone. Start trying to deeply serve someone specific. 12. Better beats louder every time. One guy running a wine email list with 130,000 subscribers does $30 million a year in revenue. No ads. No social media hustle. Just consistently better. 13. The real opportunity with AI is not making things cheaper. It is making things better. The businesses that use AI to deepen relationships will win. The ones using it to cut costs will race to the bottom. 14. Your job is not to do your job. Your job is to solve problems for other people and make things better by making better things. Everything else is just noise. 15. When AI becomes the buyer it will always choose the cheapest option. If your entire business strategy is being the cheapest, AI will destroy you. The only protection is being worth it in ways that cannot be easily measured. 16. The next level of marketing is permission at a depth nobody has achieved before. The brand that knows your tools, your projects, your needs, and shows up to help without being asked will be impossible to replace. 17. Most businesses will use AI to spam more people faster. The businesses that win will use AI to serve fewer people better. That gap is the biggest opportunity in marketing right now. 18. You have a squadron of summer interns available for twenty dollars a month. They are not that good but they are very eager. The businesses learning to be good bosses of AI right now will have an enormous advantage over everyone waiting to figure it out later. 19. The question every business should be asking is not how do I get more attention. It is how do I become the kind of business that people would genuinely miss if it disappeared tomorrow. That answer is your entire marketing strategy.

AHOF Cha Woongki's acceptance speech for AHOF during 2026 D-Awards Thank you Woongki, despite the short amount of time and the staff wanting to wrap it up before you spoke, for not failing to name and thank EVERY SINGLE PERSON that helped AHOF in their success behind the scenes. A message to anybody who suffers from anxiety, depression or addiction or who knows anybody who does... Any time I am in a dark place I can end up doomscrolling on my phone looking for any sort of inspiration to get better. I’m very lucky to be feeling good at the moment so I thought I’d just walk into the sun and make a little video of hope that might just be seen by one person who needs it. 😞 I do much better now but even 3 weeks ago I had a really bad 4-5 day spell. The dark mist returned. This is a constant battle for us all. 🏃‍♂️ I’ve been back running and eating healthy and doing all the things to make myself healthy and it’s amazing how quick it makes a difference. It’s also amazing how quick you can slip with as habits. I always found Mondays tough. It’s a day when the world moves on and everybody can be seen going about their business. I would often be anxious popping a pill to get through the day or sipping on wine in the evening. If people only knew how many people sitting or working beside them on any given day are in agony and dreading the world. The one thing I wanted to get across is things do change. The sun does shine again. You can beat this. It is possible and ok to feel “normal”. Dont beat yourself up if you can’t beat it immediately or if it never seems to be ending. It took me about 43 years to get a grip of it and as I said I still struggle. It’s totally fine to admit that. Whoever you are in the world I hope you have as good a Monday as is possible. You are not alone. ❤️🙏

Box CEO Aaron Levie’s 5 lessons for startup founders Lesson 1: Do something that wasn’t possible 3 years ago. “If you’re looking at a business opportunity that you could have done 5 or 10 years ago, it might be too late, or it might not be different enough to make a lot of people care. And that’s ultimately what it takes to scale. So look for new technologies that are enabling your solution. Box wasn’t possible in 2000. The enabling technology was cheaper storage, better browsers, more connected devices, faster internet.” Lesson 2: Do something you’re extremely passionate about. “Startups are very hard. There’s a lot of bad news that happens every single day. Bad things in the competitive space. Bad things with hiring. And you have to be able to push through. So you have to do something that’s actually really exciting, and that you’re going to be inspired about.” Lesson 3: Don’t compromise. “One of the coolest things about starting your own company is you get to make a lot of decisions. You don’t actually have to compromise or sacrifice on a lot of things. You don’t have to sacrifice on who you work with. You don’t have to compromise on how you’re going to do your marketing or how you’re going to build your technology… Ultimately, this is all in your control. you get to make these decisions and it’s a really exciting opportunity when you do.” Lesson 4: If you feel comfortable, you’re probably not doing it right. “There’s a lot of hard decisions that go into business. Who you’re going to work with, how you’re going to compete, what’s the right strategy? Are you going to raise money? Are you going to leave school? You’re going to have to go well beyond your comfort zone.” Lesson 5: Don’t write your obituary too early. “This is a mistake we’ve made a handful of times. We’ve been extremely competitive with Google, Microsoft, EMC, and these other large companies who normally we shouldn’t be afraid of. The venture capitalists are often afraid of these guys, but don’t write yourself off. Make sure that you keep on pushing. Make sure that you’re optimizing the right dimensions and areas you can beat [your competitors] in. That’s really important why we still have the company today.” Source: Stanford (Jan 2011)

65 FREE SURGERIES FOR 65 CHILDREN Yesterday, I attended the final follow-up clinic and appreciation programme at Mother Mary Hospital, Isolo, Lagos, following the successful completion of 65 free surgeries for children to mark my 65th birthday. I am deeply grateful to God Almighty for guiding the medical team throughout the process and for granting all 65 children safe and successful surgeries. The surgeries, led by Dr Folaseye Adebayo and her dedicated team, included adenotonsillectomy. This procedure removes enlarged or chronically infected tonsils and adenoids, which can cause breathing difficulties, recurrent infections, and sleep-related problems in children. What made the occasion particularly touching was listening to parents share their testimonies and hearing how these procedures have improved their children’s health and quality of life. My profound appreciation goes to Dr Folaseye (ENT/Head &Neck Surgeon) Adebayo and her entire team, the hospital management, the parents, and everyone who contributed to making this initiative possible. For me, birthdays are not merely occasions for celebration. They are opportunities to give back, touch lives, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I thank God for the privilege of being part of this initiative and, most importantly, for the gift of 65 healthy and hopeful children. May God continue to bless all those who dedicate their lives to saving and improving the lives of others. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Appreciation to Everyone who made the Fan Convention Possible. There are simply not enough words to express how grateful we are to everyone who became part of the Paint The Town Red Fan Convention. Over the course of two unforgettable days, we welcomed almost 1,500 attendees, with 1,200 meals distributed through the generous sponsorship of JLCENTERFLARES (ON HIATUS). Our journey began long before the event itself. Months of planning, revisions, sleepless nights, and endless preparations all led to this moment. But the real work started at 10:00 PM on 07/24, when our volunteers gathered to begin setting everything up. From that night until 4:00 AM on 07/27, after the final egress, they continued working almost nonstop. They sacrificed their sleep, endured physical exhaustion, carried heavy equipment, stood under the scorching heat for hours, and pushed through every challenge just to make sure every fan who walked into the venue had the best experience possible. As if the heat wasn’t enough, the first day ended with heavy rains that damaged parts of our setup and equipment. For a while, we honestly thought we wouldn’t be able to continue with Day 2. When we first submitted our proposal to SM MOA, we only had one dream: to promote JL and create a space where JL Stans could come together, celebrate, and simply enjoy being part of this community. To all our volunteers, thank you for choosing to serve instead of simply enjoying the event as fans. You gave your time, energy, and hearts without expecting anything in return. Whether you helped with setup, registration, crowd management, food distribution, cleanup, or behind-the-scenes tasks, every role mattered. This event would not have been possible without you. To all the participating fanbases and communities, thank you for taking the time to prepare and distribute your thoughtful freebies. Your passion and generosity added so much joy to the experience and made the event even more memorable for everyone who attended. To the staff of SM Mall of Asia, thank you for always being accommodating, patient, and ready to assist us whenever we needed help. Your support played an important role in making this event successful. To the hardworking crew of Tent King, thank you for carrying countless heavy metal frames and equipment from the first floor all the way to the fourth floor. We truly appreciate everything you did to help build the space that so many fans enjoyed. To our YELI Mascot Talent, thank you so much for bringing happiness wherever you went. Wearing the mascot throughout the event was never an easy task, especially under the heat and through the long hours, yet you continued to wave, dance, pose for photos, and bring smiles to everyone you met. You truly gave life to YELI, and your passion and dedication never went unnoticed. Lastly, to every fan who came, lined up, waited patiently, participated in our activities, and filled the venue with so much love and positive energy, thank you for believing in our vision. Your smiles, your excitement, and the friendships created over those two days reminded us exactly why we wanted to create this event in the first place. This fan convention was never built by one person or one team. It was built by people united by one purpose, to celebrate JL and create a place where fans can connect, and create unforgettable memories together. Every volunteer, every partner, every sponsor, every participating fanbase/community, every crew member, and every attendee became part of something truly special. What started as a simple dream became a beautiful reality because of all of you. We hope that everyone who walked into our little corner left not only with freebies or photos, but with memories they will treasure for years to come and with the feeling that they truly belonged. No matter what tomorrow brings, we’ll always be grateful that we shared this journey with all of you. For JL. For JL Stans. Always. #AHOF #아홉 #AHOF_JL #제이엘

new pod is live and it's a 1hr tutorial on how to set up funnels that print for your startup (read/watch below) a founder just shared his $20M funnel playbook with me. Jonathan Courtney shared his "ugly" funnel that looks like its from 2009 for his company AJ&Smart. but surprisingly, that funnel made over $20M. i sat there watching jonathan break down their entire system. felt like i was stealing: their best performing sequence is almost too simple: 1. facebook ads drive to a landing page. 2. landing page offers an hour-long free training. 3. training leads to a call booking. but the genius is in the patience. while most founders rush to convert visitors, AJ&Smart does the opposite. they make you invest an hour in their training. because someone who spends 60 minutes learning from you is worth 10x someone who bounces in 30 seconds. then comes the marketing web: they pixel every visitor. build retargeting campaigns across platforms. follow you until you're ready to convert. my fav part of the tutorial is the the MIFGY secret that 10x'd conversions for him. MIFGY stands for Most Incredible Free Gift Yet it's a strategy to stack one-time bonuses on your offer. Create FOMO. haters in silicon valley will say "this only works for info products." tell that to Eight Sleep ($150M+ raised) or AG1 ($115M+ raised) or Whoop ($400M+ raised) these aren't small businesses. these are category-defining brands. all built on "basic" marketing funnels. jonathan even showed us the exact ads, landing pages, and email sequences!!!!! you love to see it. probably best to watch on youtube to see but you can also listen on audio people usually charge $5,000 for this level of detail. but you can watch the whole breakdown for free. i refuse to charge for this stuff. enjoy for free but share with your friends.

FriendSpace, Explained Simply. If you’re watching the video, this write-up is just to lock it in. Yoda is a Web3 social platform built for signal, not noise. Not vibes. Not hype. Not fake engagement. Before we continue, here is the link to test the product for yourself; CODES: N8XW7ZW8JN FMAWGG8BJ6 CXPBPSNT3N Now let’s continue: It’s where creators, traders, and communities connect in token-gated rooms, share real insights, and grow together, with real incentives attached. Why it exists: Web3 social today is broken. Too many: •bots •fake experts •recycled content •scammers •engagement farmers •loud people with no results Real builders and real traders get buried. People who want real info don’t know who to trust. FriendSpace fixes this by designing the platform around: •access control •accountability •performance •real value flow So signal rises naturally, and noise dies naturally. How it works (in plain terms) Each FriendSpace room is creator-led and token-gated. But it’s not just “join group chat and talk”. Every room has: •access keys •trading activity •pooled funds from fees So money, value, and performance are linked. If a creator performs → the community benefits If a creator doesn’t perform → the system exposes it No hiding. No fake reputation. No clout games. What users get: •access to real alpha •shared upside •better info •less noise •trusted rooms •clear discovery of good creators What creators get •earn from performance •earn from room activity •real community growth •credibility tied to results •not just followers, real users! Who it’s built for This isn’t for everyone, and that’s intentional. It’s for: •Web3 creators building real communities •traders who want results to speak •FriendTech OGs •Base & Hyperliquid users •people tired of crypto noise •people looking for real signal What makes it different Not “new app” hype. Real differences: •better UX than FriendTech •real community structure •performance-based leaderboards •easy discovery of good creators •built-in incentives •crypto-native design •value > engagement Earning side There’s a live points system: •5% referral rewards •special drops for FriendTech OGs •shared earning models •community-based incentives Not farming. Not clout. Not vanity metrics. Value = reward. What’s coming This isn’t static — it’s evolving: •Polymarket integration •room battles •live competitions •more protocol integrations •better discovery •community-driven updates Creators find their niche. Users find the best people in each niche. Simple truth FriendSpace is building a social layer where: •signal wins •noise loses •value is visible •performance matters •communities grow with creators •and everyone eats together If you watched the video + read this, you get it. This isn’t another Web3 app. It’s a better structure for how crypto communities should work.

The biggest misconception about Airbnb’s famous transition away from performance marketing is that they went from 100% performance to 100% brand They didn’t. They became more balanced. After studying their transition, here are the 5 ideas you can apply in your biz as you navigate finding the ideal balance for your brand. Why listen to Airbnb? They generated >$500M in profit in a single quarter and have maintained massive margins since shifting their strategy. Something’s working that’s not simply tied to the “return to travel boom”. 1) It's not "brand" OR "performance". It's a balance of "lasers" & "chandeliers" Brian Chesky, CEO: “We were spending a lot of money in performance marketing. I don't think performance marketing is a bad thing. I think of performance marketing as a laser, actually.” “We used to have this metaphor of lasers, flash bulbs and chandeliers. If you want to light up a room, performance marketing is a laser. It can light up a corner of a room. You don't want to use a bunch of lasers to light up an entire room - you should use a chandelier. And that's what brand marketing is.” “But if you do need to laser in and balance supply and demand, then performance marketing is really good.” 2) Brand marketing = Investment yielding accumulating advantages. Performance marketing = arbitrage seeking with eroding advantages. “Performance marketing, though, doesn't create very good accumulating advantages because it's not an investment.” “Now if you want to build it permanently, like Booking . com if you have a really high ROI now, you can have a performance marketing arbitrage business.” “But assuming you don't want an arbitrage business, you actually need to be investing.” 3) Brand building isn’t only talking about your values. Your product is just as central to the brand message, so tell people why it’s different and better. “We think of marketing as education, that we're educating people on the unique benefits.” “A lot of companies don't do product marketing. They do brand marketing, which are ads about the app, or they do performance marketing. But they're never really educating people about new things they're making.” 4) Word of mouth > everything “It's a full funnel approach. And last year we got 600,000 articles written about us. So, people talk a lot about Airbnb.” - Chesky from a recent Earnings call “When you invest in a brand, when your brand's a noun and a verb, and you have something unique, you get a lot of those benefits.” “90% of our traffic remains direct or unpaid.” - Dave Stephenson, Chief Financial Officer, Airbnb 5) The single reason you invest in brand is to make more money “Chesky said that the brand would never again rely so heavily on performance marketing. And shortly after the decision to reallocate marketing spend, the company reported its most profitable fourth quarter on record” - The Drum #brand #marketing #airbnb #profitability
