Demonstrable lies from an MP. There are ~580k independent school pupils. to raise £4.7bn would take £8100 in VAT from every single one. Requiring an average annual school fee of £40,500. This is just utter lies from an MP. As for describing the changing of vat exempt item to standard rated as a "loophole", I dont think this MP understands how vat works at all. By this daft logic the altering of sanitary products to zero rated wasnt removing a tax, it is actually creating a "tax loophole" for users of tampons. A ludicrous assesment. What an odious prat this man is.

I bet your old Alma Marta is so proud of you, and the private school you taught in. Did they teach you the importance of veracity? There were NO LOOPHOLES for education. And did you pluck that £4.7bn out of your head? The VAT will COST the taxpayer, yet you continue to lie.

What rubbish! This tax hasn’t put 4.8 billion into state schools!🤷‍♀️Its unlikely to raise money. It’s never been a loophole as it’s a new tax! Jonathan was privately educated & taught for 11 years in independent schools! Happy to take a wage & then give them a kick in the teeth!

Please stop lying. The court found it discriminates against disabled children. We also know from the court case it will raise no money and is designed to cause maximum disruption to the education of children. Hardly a benefit worth celebrating…

Jonathan you need to stop lying and spreading misinformation. You know you are lying, just stop it. Have you spoken to any of the kids your policy has forced out of their school? Thought not

Just another charlatan. You’re aware that the recent court judgement said they’re not tax loopholes. Only Nigeria and the UK now tax education. You’re determined to ruin the education sector just like you’ve done in Wales. Shame on you.

You and @bphillipsonMP are cut from the same spiteful, economically illiterate cloth… If you’re celebrating destroying tens of thousands of children’s education, you’re a special kind of awful and are a danger to children. Oh - and you’re a liar just like all your mates. Resign

No integrity. So many lies. There was no tax loophole. The £££s you quote are wrong. Schools are not receiving any ££s raised. You are despicable. The country is sick of your Govt - embarrassing PM amateur MPs No plans, just making up stuff on the hoof - inc lies.

It takes a special kind of sick person to think that the dinner lady at my school who uses her 50% discount and scrapes together 7k to send her only child to the school is exploiting a loophole. It's simply not true and you know it. Her local schools are 1/2
