So there was a chase involved three (or more) carjacked vehicles. One of the carjacked vehicles was this big rig (that went the wrong way on the freeway). Suspect got out of the big rig and carjacked a white truck. Eventually the white truck came to a slow crash. But no one was in it. They abandoned before the crash. Seems like they got away.

A driver in Kentucky had a close call when an oil tanker exploded in front of his car as he was driving down a highway on Friday. The blast was caused by a crash between the oil tanker and a car. Two children and a woman that were in the car were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The tanker driver was treated at the scene.

What happens when an autonomous robotaxi gets into an accident? So far, nothing. Yesterday, I rode in a Zoox robotaxi and got hit by an RTC bus in front of New York New York. The Zoox was trying to turn right into New York New York on Tropicana Avenue just after crossing Las Vegas Boulevard and the bus was trying to get over to make its stop. What I saw, was the RTC bus merging into the front left of the Zoox robotaxi and then a crunching sound followed by a grinding sound. Pretty sure it was the RTC bus at fault. Impact detected. The Zoox robotaxi stayed in place while a warning popped up on the user display. Zoox support came over the in-car speaker and asked if I was okay and then eventually had me exit the vehicle at the New York New York rideshare area. Then, it just took off. The RTC bus? It also took off. The driver never got out to check to see what happened. Loaded up some passengers and went about the day. Nobody stayed around to file a police report, so I did. The Nevada State Troopers are scratching their heads at what to do here and so am I. Now I have a lot of questions that won’t get answered probably. I am okay and not injured thankfully, just shaken up a bit. As far as riding Zoox again, I feel it is safe to ride and highly recommend trying it out if you haven’t. On a side note: The Zoox took the hit pretty well and I couldn’t see damage when I checked it out. The bus had a nice scrape on its right wheel fender. I will keep you all updated on this.

NEW: Jaguar slams into the back of a school bus and gets lodged under it in Lee County, Florida, driver gets a citation. According to Lee County Schools, no students were on the bus at the time of the crash. The bus driver was sent to the hospital for dizziness. The Lee County Sheriff's Office reports there were only minor injuries. Today I had my first demo drive in a Tesla. It was also my first time ever sitting in one. This was the first car I’ve ever sat in the driver’s seat of where I didn’t touch the steering wheel for over 20 miles. Before I even got to the car, the people who had demoed it before me were an older married couple who were absolutely euphoric. They thought it was so cool that the car could drive itself. The Tesla employee told me this happens all the time. People come back from demo drives and tell the next test driver that they’re about to have an amazing experience. Little did I know, I’d end up carrying on the torch to the next couple demoing it after me. There was a ton of construction where I demoed the car, and FSD handled the entire drive extremely well. And yes, it can go through a drive-thru and stop at each window. The only thing I had to do was tap the pedal because it wouldn’t leave on its own, but it was still wild seeing the AI stop perfectly at the second window and wait. There are a million things I could write about why a Tesla feels like a better car and how much more it offers compared to a regular car. But for now, I’ll stick to FSD. There were only two moments that made me a little uneasy. The first was pretty minor. The car slightly hesitated going up a driveway, but quickly made up its mind. The second was more noticeable. I didn’t realize the car was nagging me. Once I touched the steering wheel, nothing happened, so I pulled it right a little harder, then let go. After that, the car turned left and crossed a double yellow on a backroad. (and yes I know you can sue the volume knob) I’m not totally sure if it was trying to pull over or what it was doing. I wanted to see how it would handle the situation, but there were cars coming, so I took over and corrected it. One of the coolest moments was when I thought FSD was glitching because it came to a complete stop in the middle of a busy road. Then I looked around and realized why. On the right side, there was a bicyclist waiting at a yellow crosswalk. The cars behind me didn’t honk, and the Tesla stopping actually incentivized another car in the right lane to stop and let him pass. The car is almost too nice to pedestrians, because 99.999% of humans would’ve blown through that, especially with no flashing light. For 99.9% of the drive, the car navigated confidently and smoothly. It was a real “feel the AGI” moment. Please do not let the media, the general public, or anyone else convince you that this technology is just some kind of auto assist or glorified cruise control. This is undoubtedly getting extremely close to feeling superhuman. You still have to pay attention to the road, but after experiencing it myself, I’d be shocked if HW4 Teslas aren’t unsupervised within the next couple years. The car was extremely smooth. There was no harsh braking, and it even avoided something in the road that I didn’t see. Driving with FSD made me realize I probably wasn’t driving as well as I could be. Hopefully, eventually, everyone’s car can be as mindful as a Tesla. I’ve never seen a brand so far removed from the public’s sentiment. I’m so happy I ordered one.

I wanted to wait until the con is pretty much over. I reported this to Twitch Staff mid block party immediately, but there were souvenir switchblades available for purchase (or literally grab and walk out with) at one of the shops in the Block Party Gaslamp area. It was a whole collection with different names engraved so anybody could reach and grab it at any height. It was towards the back corner of the shop so you had to walk in and really browse to notice it. The shop itself was also at the very back corner so there was barely anybody browsing it. However when my group all saw this at the same time - we all had the same concerned look without even saying a word. We noticed these the 1st hour of the Party so I immediately wanted to leave.

FSD just gained a new lifetime user. I saw this posted on reddit and thought I would share it here. ---- I am not a regular subscriber, but I was getting over COVID. With the foggy brain I subscribed to FSD just for the month to help me get around while recovering. I am fully recovered but get to enjoy the rest of the month of FSD. Car updated from 13.2.9 yesterday to 14.2. Today on my way home this happened! I couldn't figure out why it was slamming on the brakes until a mere second before the deer jumped out. I am so thankful. It doesn't replace human intervention but all the extra 'eyes' help. I'm still in shock and so happy I didn't destroy the deer and the car. source:

"I over-anticipated contact in the zone. For me, I kind of had a pretty big primary lead with 2 outs. There's multiple things I wanted to do. "I wanted to be able to get to 2nd if there was a ball hit to the infield, beat the throw, and then also, too, if there's a ball hit in the outfield -- either in the gap or down the line -- I would give myself the best chance to score. "So it was kind of my momentum, I was anticipating contact, but they did a -- I mean, it was a hell of a throw. It was a hell of a throw, great tag. Great play by them to take advantage of the situation. "But yeah, I definitely overcommitted too much on getting my momentum going to try and get to 2nd if there was a ball in the infield or score if there was a ball in the gap. "So yeah, it's really tough to kind of take ourselves out of the inning like that from just playing too far over my skis, so to speak. I feel awful."

Q: Was there a particularly memorable moment working with the members on this album? Tyler Spry: There’s a video that’s gone around on the Internet when I was writing with V, James Essien and Sean Foreman. That video is not the making of any of the songs that made the album, but it was one of the most fun days I had in the studio with the guys. We were just jumping up and down, singing the songs. I think that it was one of the freest days we had in the studio, creatively. So I do hope that song gets to see the light of day.

Tired and listening to a podcast, a car around a corner had broken down and suddenly appeared but before I could take over, FSD glided around the car and we continued on… In my spike of adrenaline, I pushed save clip and lived to share another day. Maybe on a full ‘tank’ I’d have been quick enough to do the same manoeuvre, but this was literally at the end of my day and I was pretty low energy. Phew for FSD.
