A relentless overnight downpour battered Kolkata, claiming lives and leaving the city reeling. In any civilised society, this would have been a moment for compassion and solidarity. But BJP, being what it is, chose to scavenge over corpses. They rushed to social media like vultures, peddling grotesque conspiracy theories, trying to pin a natural calamity on Smt. Mamata Banerjee. Their propaganda is so diseased that they now claim rainfall and death are somehow connected to the Chief Minister inaugurating puja pandals. By their own twisted yardstick, should we then assume that floods in Gurugram, Surat, Mumbai, or Uttarakhand were divine punishment because Narendra Modi arrogantly consecrated the Ram Mandir three months before Ram Navami for electoral mileage?

In a brazenly communal statement, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, alludes to Hindus as rioters. In a public meeting at Coochbehar, she appeals to the minorities to keep ‘calm’ (on 17th Apr), calls Ram Navami, the day billions of Hindus around the world pray to Bhagwan Ram, as the day of organizing riots… She further adds, even if "they" abuse you, pray to Allah to oust “them" from Bengal. Who are these ‘them’ that Mamata Banerjee wants the minorities to send out of Bengal? The Bengali Hindus? Where will they go? West Bengal was created as a homeland for Hindu Bengalis. Shame on Bengal CM for splitting Bengal into ‘us’ vs ‘them’ and reducing Hindus to second grade citizens.

In another shocking incident in West Bengal, an 11 year old minor Hindu girl, is abducted, brutally raped and murdered, while she was returning back from tuition, in the Kripakhali area, under Kul­tali police station. The villagers found her lifeless body from the riverbank. Angry villagers attacked the Kultali PS, since they refused to take the complaint because the rapist(s) is apparently a Muslim and WB Police is reluctant to act, lest they upset Home Minister Mamata Banerjee. During Durga Puja, as West Bengal celebrates Devi Shakti, women and girls are unsafe. Unless Asuri Shaktis, at the helm of the State's affair, are not defeated, crimes against women will continue, unabated. Mamata Banerjee has to GO for women to be safe in Bengal.
