@oliemack @Dachsjaeger It's unironically easier to parse what's going on in Fortnite without lumen. Lumen doesn't always look great. Intentional light direction and baked lighting very commonly looks a lot better than real time lighting. Few admit this.

Unreal Engine 5 keeps having issues. Whether it's Switch 2 ports especially in comparison with games like Starwars that are optimized properly or Metal Gear Solid delta on PS5 Pro issues. Should @UnrealEngine look into further optimization of their engine on these consoles because from the looks of it the answer is not always add more power and punch up the numbers.

@oliemack @Dachsjaeger let's not forget devs have had over 5 years with the series s devkits. we're 4 months into the switch 2 lifecycle and it's already not far off. i'm sure epic prioritised getting a stable 60fps fortnite out for switch 2 launch and will be working on bells and whistles later

@oliemack @Dachsjaeger Definitely good enough for a handheld. The next sony handheld and steamdeck 2 will be more like a seriesS but with better RT and ai upscaling, but its not a big deal. I guess it may matter for games like GTA6 that really tax this gens systems.

@oliemack @Dachsjaeger on switch 2 we know we're getting a degraded quality for the convenience of handheld gaming. I still think nintendo could have done better considering what we've seen from other handheld companies. very disappointing none the less.

Fortnite is not famous for its textures or lighting, it is basic
