This is the primary reason we South Africans are close to China, Russia, Cuba, Iran and Libya (of Gaddafi then) and do not give a damn about the US. The US supported apartheid and proscribed liberation movements as terrorist organisations, including Mandela as a terrorist. Mandela was on a US terrorist list until 2008. We cannot take a country that has no moral compass seriously.
