God's power is perfected in weakness, for when I am weak, then I am strong. The trials of today will not last forever. God is turning pain into purpose, our trials into testimonies, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. - 2 Corinthians 12:9 / X

I thought the Resurrection A.C. reference in rocky was because of the Sun-god theory of Christ, because Rocky happened on Christmas day which is the first day after the sun moves measurably from the winter solstice. This does not make Jesus wrong.

Sylvester Stallone on the "blissful stupidity" that got Rocky made Sylvester Stallone turned down $265,000 when he had $106 in the bank. He explained why to Johnny Carson, weeks after *Rocky* opened. Carson set it up by telling his audience he had watched the film with a room full of friends and everyone got up saying it was a knockout. "I have met no one yet really who has seen the picture who did not like it," he said. The film had already won best film of the year from Scholastic Magazine and Coronet Magazine. Carson's point: if somebody made a movie about how this movie got made, the audience wouldn't buy it. Stallone agreed, and gave the reason it worked anyway: "It was quite a long shot; if I had known it was gonna be that difficult I wouldn't have done it. I think it was a classic case of blissful stupidity because I didn't know you couldn't do something like this." His financing strategy was not sophisticated: "To me it seemed very normal honking your horn in the driveway of the producer and tapping on his window at all hours of the night and saying please, please, please. Eventually, I think they just gave me the money to go away." The script came out of his own dead end. He was turning 30, had been acting for ten years, and had concluded nothing was going to happen. So he took his own plight, "my inability to be recognized as an actor," and, in his words, put it in boxing shorts. "When you're a down-and-out underdog fighter, that's about as low down as you can get." The studio liked it. They also wanted somebody else in it. Stallone lists the names that came up: James Caan, Ryan O'Neal, Burt Reynolds. All bankable. None of them him. So they made offers. First $100,000 for the script. Then, as he puts it, $150,000 "to take a walk." He said no. They came back at $265,000. Carson asked him directly what goes through your head when someone offers you two hundred and sixty-five thousand dollars. "Well I said that's a lot of bread. Well after I stood up, you know it's one of those things. I felt as though the money meant nothing when you haven't dealt in money that much; it really had no bearing." He had about $106 in the bank at the time. His explanation for turning down more than 2,500 times that: a number that large was so far outside his experience that it had no emotional weight. Carson compared it to a man at the racetrack who wins $100,000, loses it all by the end of the day, and reports his loss as six dollars. Stallone's summary of his own position was one line: "So it really didn't bother me, plus $106 was gaining interest." The thing he was protecting was not the script. It was the part. And the part was the point of the script in the first place. "Many people consider it a fight film which is not true; there's only like nine minutes of fighting." Life is so unpredictable . 21 December 2023 my dad visited a patient while he felt normal . He spent December 2023 feeling normal until 24 January 2024 when he went to the office wearing a Real Madrid shirt, and felt a sudden unbearable pain he never felt before . He had people around him to assist him to take him to the nearest hospital . And his squad linked up at the hospital . I randomly recorded him casually talking and he decided to prepare the squad he felt like he reached the end of the road on earth . So people who were available to visit him in that period of time had 4 days to see him for the last time on earth . He had no idea when exactly he was departing but truly felt like . But in that moment 24 January 2024 he felt like he was really going . Family , friends and associates who had time to see him got the opportunity to say goodbye to him while he was speaking and laughing like his usual self . His last Saturday on this earth , 27 January 2024 he asked for beef stew and appletizer for supper . And got the meal he desired . He tried to make sure everyone around him felt special in someway . I last saw him alive on a Sunday , 28 January 2024 . 29 January 2024 he was alive for sometime when the sun was out in the AM’s , Monday morning normal working day . Until he randomly suffered a cardiac arrest . Got called by the hospital they were trying to resuscitate him while I was on my way first thing that morning . When I arrived it was truly the end of my goat , my king , my dad Tshifhatuwo Tshipileli Tshivhase . 12 April 1964-29 January 2024 .

Ariana Madix recalls when she caught her boyfriend of nine years, Tom Sandoval, cheating on her with her best friend, Raquel. She says she was holding his phone while he was performing a song, and felt a divine intervention in that moment. She says she’s not someone who likes to snoop because she knows she’ll find something she doesn’t want to see, as that’s been the case in her past relationships. But she went through his phone anyway and found evidence of him cheating in his camera roll. “I was holding my phone and his phone just kinda as a stack. There’s nothing weird about that, we were together for 9 years. Me holding on to his phone, his laptop. So they had like one more song, then afterwards I got up to go tell him good job and give him his phone back, and he was talking to some other band members so he was a little preoccupied. And then literally in that moment, it felt like a divine intervention or something. l've always been very hesitant to become the snooper because I always feel like anytime you snoop in anyone's stuff even if they're not guilty of doing anything wrong you always end up finding something you don't want to find or seeing something you don't want to. I've been like that in past relationships. So in this one I was like I'm not going to do that and if I ask about something I will take Tom's word. I will be someone who trusts. I just had this thought, this is a time to do it. So I went into the bathroom at TomTom, he had not changed the passcode on his phone. We knew each other’s passcodes. So, it felt like if you were going to be the type of person who is going to have an affair or be cheating or hiding things, you wouldn’t also be so readily giving of your stuff like that. And so I looked in his messages. There was nothing weird. And I was like, “Okay, maybe you’re being dumb.” And then I opened up his camera roll and then that’s when I saw what I saw. And I busted out of the stall.”
