Contrary to others' views, what if that gun had fired. I appreciate the bravery, but still if one person of family got severely injured or even worse. I am thankful to see they are safe.

@TelanganaCOPs must keep a vigil such outsiders from other states are many, they perform crime & flee back to respective hometowns. After 2014 #BRSParty came into power Hyderabad crime prompted to extreme level, drugs/prostitution etc., activities were encouraged. @TelanganaDGP

My 2 observation 1)Why so much praise and congratulation by the police, that too for self defence? If tomorrow robbers attack me why would i not fight back! Its a normal and natural reaction 2) They didnt use any of their martial arts skill. Yes fighting spirit is to be appreciated

What if the gun wasn't jammed ?????? People, please don't retaliate at the cost of your life. All other things can be earned or fixed later 🙏🙏 You are important for your family. May be all this appreciation is because the ladies aren't their family 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

A 22-year-old woman, an IIT graduate and the daughter of a senior bureaucrat, was found dead at her home in southeast Delhi's East of Kailash area. Police said she was raped before being strangled to death with a phone charger. She was alone at home at the time of the incident. There were no signs of forced entry. Police have arrested a 19-year-old domestic help, Rahul, who had worked at the house and was dismissed over a month ago. "Investigations revealed that he used to play online games and would borrow money from other servants in the vicinity, or from domestic staff working in nearby households, without ever repaying them. This is why he was fired," Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said. He was arrested from a hotel in the Dwarka area, where he had been hiding. He is being charged with rape, murder and robbery, police said. Rahul was seen in CCTV footage leaving the victim's residence at 6:28 am, police said. According to police, the woman was found by her family members inside the house under suspicious circumstances, after which the authorities were alerted. The victim had completed her schooling at DPS RK Puram and later graduated from IIT Delhi. She was preparing for the UPSC examination. She was also a dancer and had won several awards in dance competitions. Her elder brother holds a senior position in a multinational company, and her mother is a doctor. When police reached Rahul's residence in Alwar, they found that he had previously been involved in a sexual harassment case. Police said the accused arrived in Delhi from Alwar the previous night and is suspected to have entered the house using a spare key. Police said Rahul had been hired with a reference from a superintendent posted at the IRS officer's office.

The Bengaluru city police in a joint operation with Puducherry police arrested techie J Kenneth, accused of murdering the parents and sister of his girlfriend Shwetha. Kenneth was spotted by Puducherry police when he was drinking at a wine shop, and on seeing the cops, Kenneth started running. Chasing him for over 200 meters, ASI Ramalingam from Puducherry police department, succeeded in nabbing Kenneth. However, Ramalingam and few other cops were injured as Kenneth assaulted them. From the same place, cops had arrested Shwetha two days back. Both had fled the city after stabbing Shwetha's parents and sister Supriya to death inside the flat of an apartment in Seegehalli, KR Puram. Shwetha is in seven-day-police custody. Police will produce Kenneth before the judge at latter's home-office in National Games Village, Koramangala by evening. The victims were identified as Somasundar (52), his wife Muthulakshmi (48), and their 19-year-old daughter Supriya. According to police, the accused allegedly carried out the murders following a dispute that escalated over financial issues linked to Shwetha's unpaid bank loans, which had reportedly crossed Rs 30 lakh. Investigators believe the financial burden, along with the couple's strained circumstances, played a key role in the incident. Police said Shwetha and Kenneth, both engineering graduates and former classmates, had been in a live-in relationship for over a year, which they had kept hidden from their families. The relationship came under strain after bank recovery notices related to Shwetha's loans began reaching her family's residence in Marathahalli. In the days leading up to the incident, Shwetha's mother reportedly visited the couple's apartment after receiving the notices, followed by her father and younger sister. Police said an argument broke out over the loan issue, which soon escalated into violence inside the apartment. Neighbours reported hearing screams around 10 pm on the night of the incident, after which Somasundar was found bleeding on the staircase. Following the killings, Shwetha allegedly fled the scene, prompting a massive manhunt that led to her arrest earlier. Kenneth's arrest in Puducherry marks another major development in the ongoing investigation. Police are continuing to reconstruct the sequence of events and determine the exact role played by each accused in the triple murder case.

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly murdered in broad daylight at the BC Road bus stand in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday evening, sending shockwaves across Karnataka. The victim, identified as Lavanya, a resident of Kakkepadavu, worked at a private nursing home in Kalladka. Police said the accused, identified as Chethan, allegedly attacked her with a machete after she repeatedly rejected his advances. He was arrested within hours near Vamanjoor-Pacchanadi on the outskirts of Mangaluru following a coordinated police operation. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concerns over crimes linked to harassment and one-sided obsession. Police have registered a murder case and launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to the attack. According to the police, Lavanya was returning home from work on Thursday, 16 July, at around 6 pm. She had boarded a KSRTC bus from Bantwal to Kakkepadavu after finishing her shift at the private nursing home in Kalladka. Police said Chethan, who is believed to be a distant relative of the victim, boarded the same bus and sat next to her. The accused had allegedly been pursuing Lavanya despite her repeatedly rejecting his advances. Sensing something was wrong, Lavanya reportedly called one of her relatives and informed them that a young man had sat beside her on the bus. The call was disconnected shortly afterwards. After Lavanya got off the bus at the BC Road bus stand, the accused allegedly followed her. Police said he then took out a machete from a bag and chased her. Despite her attempt to escape, he allegedly attacked her repeatedly before fleeing the scene. Police personnel from the Bantwal subdivision and Bantwal Town Police Station rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and began an investigation. Lavanya, who sustained critical injuries, was immediately shifted to Bantwal Taluk Hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries despite efforts to save her. After the attack, the accused allegedly fled towards Mangaluru in an Alto car. During his escape, he reportedly called Lavanya's father and told him that he had killed his daughter and intended to end his own life. Acting swiftly, the Bantwal subdivision police formed a special investigation team. Using mobile phone location data and CCTV footage, officers traced and arrested the accused along with the vehicle near Vamanjoor-Pacchanadi on the outskirts of Mangaluru. Police sources said the accused had allegedly created a disturbance at the private hospital where Lavanya worked about a month earlier. Hospital staff reportedly intervened and prevented the situation from escalating. Investigators are now examining whether the absence of a formal police complaint after the earlier incident contributed to the tragedy. Bantwal Town Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.

The rear left portion of the car also got damaged in the incident. “I helped the girls get up. When they were leaving, I stopped them and told them about the damage, asking them to pay for repairs. The girls started abusing me filthily and assaulted me,” Gurkar stated in the complaint. The police said the situation escalated rapidly as the intoxicated girls attacked Gurkar with their helmets before attempting to flee. When bystanders intervened and demanded an explanation, the girls turned violent toward them as well. A passerby contacted the police helpline 112, and the Hulimavu police staff rushed to the spot. The girls also put up resistance when police officers tried to put them into a Hoysala vehicle. After a brief commotion, they were taken to Hulimavu police station, where their parents were summoned. “We have registered a case against the girls, but they were let off at 3 am on Saturday with their parents after they were served notice,” said a police officer.
