‼️🇨🇳🇹🇼 BIG | Taiwan is deploying an aggressive new asymmetric defense shield across the Taiwan Strait—unleashing a fleet of high-tech sea drones backed by American technology to permanently derail China’s maritime expansion. In a massive tactical leap, the Taiwanese government has officially greenlit the procurement of dozens of uncrewed vessels for its Coast Guard, as reported by Nikkei Asia. The high-stakes defense package includes 25 uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) and two unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) to be developed by the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST). Crucially, Taipei is directly tapping into American defense expertise, partnering with U.S.-based Maritime Tactical Systems (MARTAC) to build a highly lethal, autonomous swarm capable of locking down the strait and monitoring or intercepting the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) in real-time. This contract marks a brilliant strategic evolution that adapts the devastating maritime drone lessons of the Black Sea to the defense of Taiwan. By integrating cutting-edge U.S. drone tech into its frontline Coast Guard, Taipei is effectively transforming its gray-zone defense into an un-navigable minefield for Chinese warships. This move signals to Beijing that any attempt to enforce a naval blockade or execute a surprise amphibious assault will be met by an invisible, relentless swarm of kamikaze and surveillance drones—proving that Taiwan’s defense strategy is getting sharper, faster, and completely optimized for high-tech attrition. ‼️🇹🇼🇺🇲🇨🇳 BIG | The U.S. National Security Strategy Establishes the Principle of “Defending Taiwan” — says Su Ziyun, Head of Taiwan’s Institute for National Defense and Security. Based on his analysis of the document, Su notes that the United States is shifting from strategic ambiguity to strategic clarity regarding Taiwan’s defense. The priority of the Taiwan issue in Washington’s policy is increasing, while the main emphasis is moving toward collective defense mechanisms and preventing any attempt to change the status quo by force. For the first time, the U.S. strategy includes a direct formulation declaring the seizure of Taiwan by any specific state unacceptable — and the document no longer contains the traditional references to the “One China Policy” that appeared under previous administrations. Although China is not openly criticized in the strategy, the text implicitly reflects a containment approach: Beijing is described as the only actor possessing both the intent and the capabilities to alter the global order. For comparison: Trump’s first National Defense Strategy mentioned Taiwan three times, Biden’s document five times, while the new strategy refers to Taiwan eight times. Su Ziyun also emphasizes that the entire “Trump 2.0” team is strongly anti-communist. According to him, despite Trump’s sharp rhetoric, his decision-making circle fully recognizes Taiwan’s geopolitical value. The incorporation of the “Taiwan Assurance Act” into domestic U.S. law has practically eliminated the so-called “anti-Americanism theory.” Su further highlights public sentiment in Taiwan: according to surveys, up to 40% of Taiwanese citizens are willing to sacrifice their lives for their country, and around 70% are ready to go to war. These are among the highest levels seen in democratic states and, in Su’s view, demonstrate the reliability and mobilization capacity of Taiwanese society. The remaining challenge concerns the governing party’s communication skills. As Su Ziyun states: “Taiwan is not hostile to China — the Chinese Communist Party is hostile to democracy.” He urges the opposition to take the “correct historical position,” support the defense budget, and show the world that Taiwan’s democracy is maturing and ready to assume responsibility for its own security. Only in this way, he argues, can Taiwan establish a positive cycle of cooperation with its allies. Ultimately, the publication of the U.S. National Security Strategy shows that Taiwan has now been fully integrated into the American strategic architecture of the Indo-Pacific region. The frequent mentions of Taiwan, references to “collective defense,” and the omission of the “One China” phrase all illustrate the deepening of Washington’s involvement. Taiwan’s leadership interprets the new strategy as confirmation of U.S. guarantees, which further strengthens its political reliance on Washington. The internal Taiwanese discourse is increasingly shaped by American assessments — from defining threats to military standards and defense-budget requirements. Taiwan is effectively adopting the American strategic logic of regional confrontation with China: it is strengthening its armed forces according to U.S. expectations, deepening cooperation with the Pentagon, and aligning political rhetoric with American interests, which in turn heightens tensions with Beijing. "Justice Mission 2025" military drills reinforce a red line that must not be crossed The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command continued its "Justice Mission 2025" military drills around Taiwan Island for the second consecutive day on December 30, 2025. Starting early in the morning, destroyers, frigates, fighters and bombers sent by the Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command conducted drills involving identification, warning and expulsion, strikes on hostile vessels, fleet air defense, and anti-submarine warfare from air and in the waters to the north and south of Taiwan. During the drills, H-6K bombers simulated precision strikes against designated targets in Taiwan. The operation was intended to test the troops' capability of joint operations and regional blockade. On Tuesday afternoon, a flotilla sent by the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command and led by an amphibious assault ship worked with destroyers, frigates and drones of the PLA Eastern Theater Command to conduct joint drills including rapid landing operations and the seizure of key ports in the waters to the east of Taiwan. On the ground, two troop units equipped with Long-range Multiple Launch Rocket Systems executed live-fire drills, covering the waters to the north and south of Taiwan. All these operations achieved desired effects, according to the PLA Eastern Theater Command. Tuesday's drills demonstrated that the Chinese PLA possesses formidable capabilities to cut off the lifeline of energy and resource imports for Taiwan authorities at any time, thereby destroying their separatist agenda, said Zhang Chi, a professor at the Chinese PLA National Defense University, "The PLA can strike whenever it chooses to strike, and its firepower package can be delivered right to where the separatists are," he added. A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the drills are intended to deter separatist forces on the island, who are trying to build up the island's military capabilities by purchasing US arms in their pursuit of "Taiwan independence". The military drills are meant to instill into the minds of the "provocateurs, saboteurs of peace and warmongers" on the island the costly consequences "of turning Taiwan into a powder keg". The Taiwan question is at the very core of China's core interests, and the drills reinforce a red line that must not be crossed. Attempts to arm the secessionists as part of a bid to contain China will only bring conflict closer. #PLA #Taiwan #JusticeMission2025 #正义使命2025 #ChinaMilitary #ChinaMilBugle #EasternTheaterCommand

ALERT:🚨 “JAPAN WILL DEFEND TAIWAN” — A RED LINE HAS BEEN DRAWN Japan has now signalled what many hoped—and others feared—would never be said aloud: If China moves on Taiwan, Japan will not remain neutral. Tokyo has stated that any Chinese assault on Taiwan could constitute an “existential crisis” for Japan’s national security — a legal classification that allows Japan to deploy military force in collective defence with its allies. This is not symbolic language. It means Japan is preparing for real war. Here is the strategic reality: • Around 80% of Japan’s energy imports pass through waters near Taiwan • A Chinese blockade would cripple Japan’s economy overnight • If Taiwan falls, Japan becomes isolated—economically and militarily • The message to Washington is unmistakable: Japan expects America to stand with it Japanese officials have made their position publicly clear, and Chinese leadership knows exactly what that means: A move on Taiwan will not just be a regional conflict— it risks triggering a three-nation military response: Taiwan, Japan, and the United States. This is no longer hypothetical. Japan is openly signalling preparedness. Beijing is increasing incursions and fleet movements. U.S. leaders are discussing forward deployments. The fuse is being laid. War is no longer “possible.” It is approaching the brink. And when the spark comes— it will reshape the entire balance of power in the Pacific.

The Chinese have limited understanding of the West. In recent weeks, Chinese military circles have extensively discussed the U.S. operation in Venezuela, attributing its success primarily to the decapitation of the regime. All Chinese analyses center on the collapse of the defense chain and the subservience that resulted from the leadership vacuum. The Chinese seem almost incapable, at least initially, of considering the reverse scenario: that U.S. intelligence, by infiltrating circles close to Maduro over many months and negotiating compensations, managed to neutralize the entire chain, delivering Maduro in exchange for preserving the governing structure. The Chinese are analyzing the U.S. approach in the context of Taiwan, focusing on decapitation of the central leadership. But suppose the Chinese were willing to spend tens of millions of dollars. Even then, the level of corruption in Taiwan is not comparable to the situation among Venezuela’s military. Although more than 150 people have been indicted since 2020 for spying for China, and the majority of them are active or retired military personnel, this does not mean the high command would be susceptible to the kind of structural sabotage seen in Venezuela. The Chinese already know every inch of Taiwan’s governmental structure and conduct military training on full-scale replicas, constructed as a mock district since last year. However, what would the situation look like under a pro-China government? Could similar self-sabotage actions occur, as seen in Venezuela? It seems to me that the Chinese will also consider this scenario. Even so, the Chinese still have much to learn and will come to realize that the level of negotiations between the U.S. and Latin American governments is quite different from the dynamics they maintain with Taiwan.

🚨BREAKING | A new Select Committee on China investigative report is out today and the findings are troubling. Our investigation and subsequent report found that J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley helped Chinese companies tied to the CCP’s military apparatus and forced Uyghur labor raise BILLIONS in global capital markets. Just months after Department of War 🇺🇸 designated Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL), the world’s largest battery maker, as a “Chinese military company,” JPMorgan and Bank of America moved forward with underwriting its Hong Kong IPO, helping the company raise billions in new capital. According to our investigation, the banks proceeded even after CATL was linked to China’s Military-Civil Fusion strategy and despite evidence connecting the company to entities tied to the PLA, China’s defense-industrial base, and forced labor in Xinjiang. The investigation uncovered CATL partnerships and business relationships with blacklisted Chinese defense-linked entities including Huawei, NORINCO, CETC, CSSC_global, COMAC, China Mobile, and CNNC. The report also details CATL’s ownership stake in Wuhu Shipyard, a key builder of Chinese naval vessels and military equipment, as well as research partnerships tied to the PLA’s National University of Defense Technology and China’s nuclear weapons complex. The Committee found further evidence linking CATL’s supply chain to Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC)-connected entities implicated in forced labor and the Uyghur genocide in Xinjiang. According to the investigation, CATL refused to provide full supply chain audits, while banks proceeded with the deals anyway despite public evidence and internal diligence reports identifying ongoing exposure to forced labor risks. In a separate transaction, Morgan Stanley sponsored the IPO of Zijin Gold even after its parent company and Xinjiang subsidiaries were added to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List. Internal documents showed the firm identified significant sanctions and national security risks and moved forward regardless. Our investigation concluded that Wall Street’s due diligence processes prioritized deal completion over national security and human rights concerns. Policy changes are needed to stop U.S. financial institutions from bankrolling companies tied to the CCP’s military buildup and forced labor system. More on the report here:
