Spent my Saturday interacting with the constituents of the Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency. Met them at Anganwadi Centres, Community Halls, and Open Gyms across Kacheguda and Khairatabad. It was heartening to see these community spaces being actively used by people of all ages. Together, these facilities strengthen the social fabric of our neighbourhoods and contribute to a more connected, vibrant, and empowered community. I'm committed to ensuring that such public spaces continue to serve the people effectively. Sharing some glimpses:

I urge all Londoners to stand with our Jewish communities. Condemning antisemitism is not enough. We need to collectively fight against it, as we have in the past. And yet still less than everything that unites us – unites us into a community, a nation, a state. Unites us as Ukraine. We must preserve every one of our national shrines like this. And all the more so now, when the challenges of the passage of time have been compounded by the challenges of Russia’s utterly godless and asinine war against Ukraine and against all the places of our culture, our history, our memory – against all places that embody humanity. From the Entoto to Peacock corridor to the Entoto–Kebena stretch, this is a large-scale urban transformation that extends up to 50 meters beyond the rivers, creating green corridors, public gathering spaces, walkable areas, recreation zones, and commercial spaces that are reshaping the city itself. What makes the project especially significant is its broader economic and social impact. Beyond improving the appearance and function of the riversides, it has created jobs for many people across construction, engineering, landscaping, logistics, and related sectors, while also generating opportunities for local contractors, suppliers, and businesses. The fact that so much of the work is being designed and delivered locally highlights the growing capacity of Ethiopian expertise in urban development and infrastructure. The sustainability aspect is equally important. Once dumping grounds for toxic waste and flood hazards affecting communities along the riverbanks, these areas are now being transformed into greener, healthier, and more liveable urban spaces. At the same time, the integration of commercial and public spaces demonstrates how environmental restoration and economic growth can work together rather than compete with one another. This is a long-term investment in the future of Addis Ababa as a greener, more connected, economically vibrant, and people-centered city.
