Talking about Asake contract without fully understanding his reasons for deleting anything that associates him with YBNL today shows the lack of accountability in the Nigerian music industry. Asake didn’t burn any bridges; he simply elevated his craft and made business moves away from his old record label without...

First off, a lot of people are taking sides while these gentlemen have handled things professionally. I’ve seen podcasts claim Olamide didn’t take advantage of Asake, while others use old videos of Asake to justify their opinions. But if you look back at Asake’s last album, he gave us all the insights into his journey. This is why I believe he’ll be the next artist to elevate Afrobeats to even greater heights. Wizkid and Sarz recognized this early, which is why they were quick to work with him. For the record, Olamide’s first Grammy nomination came courtesy of Asake, Let’s dive on Asake contract with YBNL….#mixofusng

Before diving into Asake’s contract, let me remind you of some names you might have forgotten that left YBNL: “Picazzo, Lyta, Davolee, and Chinko Ekun”. It wasn’t just about contracts not going well; many left without gaining much from their time at YBNL. Lil Kesh was fortunate to have a successful collaboration with YBNL after his departure, leading to the creation of his own label, “YAGI Records”. Davolee also released a song in 2019 after leaving YBNL, where he shared a story that many fans struggled to understand. A lot of these artists don’t speak about the pain or struggles they faced after signing with YBNL and not receiving what they expected. Remember, it’s business, and emotions should not cloud their craft. So watching everyone…#mixofusng

No one needs to be blamed; it's business, something Nigeria struggles with when it comes to professionalism. Nigerians often favor "padi-padi" business, a practice that has shaped how the world sees the industry, leading many upcoming artists to get carried away and sign deals due to the country's hardships. Would you blame Asake for signing and not renewing, or for buying himself out of the deal? Your response will reveal your understanding of business ethics. Also, did Olamide do anything wrong? If your answer is yes, it shows a lack of business foresight. Neither of these two has come out to complain, which indicates they value their connection and business. From my perspective and the information I have, every record label in Nigeria needs to improve on their agreements and terms.🤍✍️🚀#mixofusng

Now, I don't even understand what you said. The truth about this thing? Most of them that leaves a record label, they really struggle. They only try to be relevant but hard. I still feel wizkid is like the only one that left a record label and still went to boom. However, artist should always remember the way you begged for record owners to sign you, you can still use that method to beg to amend contract conflicts. All the above artist you mentioned where are they now?
